The Stoke fans are planning a minutes applause on Monday night, at 28 minutes, to show support to the family of Nathan Smallwood. He was a Stoke fan who died in a car crash this last weekend. His wife remains very ill in hospital and his 6 year old son will be at the match.

It would be good if you could join in, or at least show respect to the little boy who will be there having just lost his dad.

I won't be there but hope this gets respected by all. Horrible story.

Very sad story indeed, I won't be there but will be watching on my PC at work, respect your gesture. <ok>

I have no doubt that anyone that knows why we are clapping will join in.

If you didn't know why we were clapping though it could seem game related and result in boo's. Thought it would make sense to give you some background to it.

There will certainly be a pre-match announcement and therefore respect shown by all including the Blues! I trust, as sometimes happens on these solemn occasions, we don't get some simpleton who decides to offend!
