This bloke sounds too attacking to be Pulis right back. Interesting though. Good to see we're looking abroad for targets.

Skysports.com understands Stoke City are preparing a move for Olympiakos defender Vasilis Torosidis.

The Greece international is regarded as one of the best attacking full-backs in Europe after impressing for club and country over the last few years.

Torosidis has been linked with a move to England in the past with Liverpool, Manchester City, Sunderland and Blackburn all credited with an interest in the right-back.

Now Stoke are ready to make a move for Torosidis with the player admitting he would be interested in a move to one of Europe's top leagues.

Stoke boss Tony Pulis has made a new right-back one of his top priorities in this summer's transfer market and landing Torosidis would be something of a coup.

Torosidis is reported to have a €7million (£6.3m) buy-out clause in his contract, but Olympiakos would consider lower offers.

Olympiakos vice-president, Giannis Moralis, insists they have yet to receive any bids for Torosidis, but that they are open to offers for the defender.

No offers

"We haven't received any offer so far for Torosidis," Moralis told skysports.com.

"The player is under contract with Olympiakos and we make our plans for the new season with him in our squad.

"Of course, like for all the players in our squad, we are open to talks also for Torosidis.

"If we are going to receive a big offer for him we are ready to negotiate."

Capturing him will force the spartans to lay siege to the brit?

Perhaps we could get a Turkish player for xmas.

We could do with a good fullback.

Never thought I'd say it but go get Joey Barton too.

Xerxes at full back <yikes> Also Sunderland will soon have a spare team for Pulis to drool over!! I heard that Pulis got really excited t'other day and tried to sign Alan Sunderland.

Oh Steve - as with Tuncay, a Turk(ey) is for life NOT just for Christmas
