Did you just ignore the points I made? we were down to TEN MEN against Liverpool, and missing half of our midfield. So it's not at all similar. Today, and last week, we are playing with the bulk of our starting team and midfield.
Which is why you were wrong about us wining the FA Cup, wrong about progressing to the Champions League quarter finals. Wrong about all your starting predictions of us winning the league. LOL, it's funny though, your proud you came 4th, says it all really about you, 4th is your championship, thanks for proving my point, you could not make that up. lollllllllllllll.
And onto another point, there is a direct link between our weak attack and our departures this season. We sold our 2 best attacking threats in our team, RVP and Song, and you look at how dickless we now look in attack and you can see a direct correlation, so we have basically shot ourselves in the foot, and have made things harder for ourselves. Why do we constantly have to sell our best players and start a rebuilding process that takes time, and games, which cost us points?
I never said we'd win the FA Cup, nor did I predict we'd overturn the Milan result, nor did I SERIOUSLY say we'd win the league. And I'm not really proud of the 4th, but you said I was a rubbish predictor and 4th in the Arsenal Forum PL does not mean you're a bad predictor. Pray tell,, where did your predictions get you?
That was at home and against a pretty **** Liverpool team and who proceeded to show how bad they were for the rest of the season. Today we were up against Stoke, a team like I said have cause no end of problems for years now. Today we saw a clear improvement in our defending, especially at set pieces. We let in 49 goals last season, so seeing the team defend in such a more organised fashion is a positive to take. We also defended much better as a team and never allowed Stoke any time on the ball. In both games this season, the other team IMO, have not created a single clear chance. If that is not a positive, then I do not know what is.
Speaking on the game, this season it looks like our defense has been BOULDED up. Our midfield was also quite good, not getting bullied by Stoke as we have in previous years. Our final ball and intensity in the final 3rd Should and Will Improve but I don't see why we can't challenge and win trophies this season. Shout out to Mannone, Mert, Jenkers, and Cazorla
You are a rubbish predictor in the grand scheme of things, you were wrong in all the things I just mentioned, but you're just coming out with Wenger like excuses now, just like Wenger says I didn't see it, for you it's I DIDN'T SAY IT. I didn't take part in no prediction league, but I was right on the main points, that we wouldn't win **** all, and it would be another trophyless season fighting for a top 4 spot.
We did defend better but at the same time it was hardly an ariel bombardment from Stoke. I think they got 1 corner all game and didn't use the long thrown apart from once right at the end
The lads did alright today. They defended really well and played as a team. The only thing lacking was a goal. But they will come. Pod, Giro and Caz have only played two competitive games. Give them a chance. Once they start scoring, the goals will flow. Both Giroud and Podolski could have scored today, if they had of, it would have been the perfect performance. So I don't see the need for the over reaction
Sunderland actually created 2 good chances in the first 20 minutes, until we tightened down, ;-). I'm just going to say it again, start praising the defence, after we see them come up against the real big boys, Liverpool away, City away, and Chelsea home. Then you can well and truly say if the defence has reached the level we have always wanted them to.
And you take pleasure in that fact. Good for you. Keep being angry, bitter, and a Knee Jerker and I'll just disagree with you.
That's because we never allowed them the time on the ball for them to get men into our half and start earning those set pieces. Every time, they ventured into our half we pressed them well and got the ball back and never allowed them get too many men into our final third.
Couldn't it be said that we prevented Stoke from having any set pieces from which to launch their ariel bombardments ?
Yeah, we'll see But you have to give some praise for the defence today. 2-3 seasons ago, this was a game we would have lost.
Liverpool look pretty good, i'm not feeling so confident about next week now. I still feel a draw could be the minimum.
