A good point. The stats make the game almost exactly even so a fair result and one we can hopefully build on
Stoke are a physical team and we stood up to it well, which on other occasions we haven't. Karnezis looks a far more assured keeper than we took him to be at Everton. Some good defensive performances and a manager who was brought in to steady the ship, and looks like he may be doing that.
Mariappa had a very good game using his experience. To be honest I didn't see a weak performance. The new man looks as if he might have something to offer. Fancy getting your first game on a freezing night in Stoke.
A point and clean sheet on the road in a tight game is ok.. Don't think they were too impressed with us but then I don't think they can complain too much about spoiling tactics !! http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/276558/****houses Will we get the Chelsea back lash Monday ?
Bit much them complaining about time wasting, they obviously didn't come to Vicarage Road earlier this season when Mr Hughes had them do exactly the same to us ?
There was at least one of them at the match though - They will look at it as mission accomplished. They came with a plan to disrupt us, slow it down and hit us on the break. Let’s face it they nearly executed the perfect plan as they deserved the win. Id take a performance like that at Bournemouth in Saturday but hopefully we stick away a chance Christ only knows what the rest were watching, but it wasn't the game I watched.
