If he's as good as you make out he should be able to play alongside anyone. Amat/Mawson and VDH work. On what planet do you think it makes sense to swap and change CB partners with Fernandez?
I am not upset at all mate it is your opinion, just a really really stupid one. We are playing for point mind and we are in the relegation zone and we have just had our first clean sheet and you want to try something new just in case. By the way Fernandez started his slippery slope last season and went down hill as of Xmas.
You don't care if his value drops .... Are you sure your not on the board ....Huws & his 7 million pound present to Monk down the tubes , to add to his massive payments to managers being shown the door . Buying cheap has been the bedrock of 5 seasons being the only club not to net spend any money with 10th place always near . The only thing the club has done right is this , up till the point the club thought they knew more than managers that made us the money on players
If it means Fernandez value drops to £0 means we'll stay up then I will absolutely take it. If I was Huw I'd have signed Joe and Townsend this summer. Buying cheap and not replacing Leon, Rangel, Routs, Dyer, Bony (jury still out on Baston and rightly so this early on), could also argue Jonjo too etc is what's landed us in this mess. But hey, as long as Fernandez price tag is healthy when we are relegated who cares right? Fernandez as of now should be 4th choice.
No I don't mind his value dropping to zero if it means we play better players and we stay up. You are so preoccupied with profit rather than a good side, you have advocated for years buying cheap and then selling no matter what happens to the team. What most fans want is the best side we can put on the pitch, not playing someone who isn't good enough just so his value doesn't decrease.
I have just had my last say on this, it is just pathetic now. Let him ramble on. No more replies from me.
Other than Fernandez's and his agent, who cares how much he's worth. Its the ability of the player that counts not his £value when it comes to picking a competitive team and any loss in value is Fernandez problem not the teams or the managers. If any club wants to compete then it has to pick its most competitive team, which consists of its best players in their respective positions. Currently, imo, Fernandez is fourth in line out of four, fifth if you include Bartley if he comes back in January. I'd suggest that Fernandez current market value is well below the price we paid for him and this is of his own making and due to the regularity of his poor performances over a season and a half of football. I also suggest that he is the lowest value centre back we have in our first team squad.
I don't know what planet you're on. We should have scored 12 goals in our last 2 games. We are in decent form now make no mistake. I will be very very surprised if we don't take any points at all and I fancy us for all 3. Good luck on monday and try to stay off the beer before posting.
Fernandez value dropped the day he joined us as he was never going to make a name for himself with a smallish club like ours....He tends to blow hot and cold mainly luke warm for me and have made some dire mistakes that have led to a goal and then he has been good sometimes.......He will get his fair share of games i have no doubt about that but with a new manager we are bound to see players dropped to be replaced so the manager can see them play in a competitive match,( 5 players half the team were replaced in two games ) Bob is doing the right thing at the moment looking at his players and soon he will know who are his first team and key players are.....He has said that all his players are playing for their shirts atm....
ITs funny how people who want Fernandez chastised to bench ...are the same people who yammered all summer about getting in a high priced CB because gems can't be found anymore ...are the same people who are fighting for playing time rights of VDH and Mawson , probably 3 million total for the both . .
Actually, Mawson was 5m and vdh was 2m, yes I am one who wanted a CB with experience and quality, not just experience and I would still advocate signing one and releasing or selling Fernandez. But now we have found what looks good lets stick with it until we have better. this isn't under12's football where we give everyone a game to keep the players and the parents happy, this is Pl and we stick with our strongest side, whoever that maybe. Anyway back to the thread, I hope we play the same back 4 I would start Llorente and hope we can get a point.
Hate to burst your bubble Lefty but I get the feeling everyone is going to get a chance to play under Bradley , big games too .Just my opinion . Im liking Bradley the more I see what hes doing . And its not just Bradley , Im thinking the players are fed up with managers , chairman and the works being a negative and want to regroup within the team itself regardless of who's in charge .I too want LLorente to start and for Baston to grow slowly but learnedly .
Bob is right having a good look at all the players in a competitive match but he must find a balance as his main aim has to be to win the match. In our last game he made 5 changes from the Arsenal game and that is half the team not counting the keeper, In my opinion only i think that 5 changes is excessive and a hell of a risk but we got away with it but we did not win. I want Bob to keep on looking at his players in competitive matches in ones and two's and not half the team as it is a big risk he is taking and i hope he never does that playing away from home......We may not have won yet but im confident that we will start winning soon maybe starting at stoke who knows but you must play the best players and not change the team too much as we need consistancy and understanding amoung our players.....
How long does Bob need to find the correct balance/change things? Warnock has just picked up 7 points from his first 3 games at Cardiff. I was hoping for a similar boost by seeing an improved performance v Arsenal (not just the last 15-20mins) beating Watford and getting at least a point at Stoke. I can't see anything than a loss at the weekend which will give Bob 1/9.
And not only that Warnock has not changed the side that much, he has brought in 3 players that he felt will boost cardiff...Bob did not have that option and must assess the squad he was dealt with.....He is doing the right thing in saying that every player is playing for their shirt.....
