Not where I sit in the chapel it isn't, criticism of Guly seems football based. He missed a sitter today !!!
Around me there is much love for Punch and Clyne so what can I say?
Or maybe its just prejudice against Brazilian?

However, the world is generally a bit of a racist place and you should just challenge it where you find it, what more can you do?

.....and people wonder why I no longer post here?

People were worried we would lose - we didn't
People were worried we would pick up an injury - we didn't
People were worried Morgan would get a yellow and be banned for the Arsenal game - he wasn't
People were worried about Luke Shaw getting bullied in such a physical game - he wasn't
We nearly doubled Stoke's goal conceded at home column.....teams that score goals, especially away, do not get relegated - it is teams that can't score that typically go down
Aston Villa, QPR, Wigan, Reading and I think Fulham have more to worry about than we do
Aston Villa make the Derby side of 2007/08 look like world beaters
Adam is back soon and will be fit and raring to go
The next game is home against a very up and down Arsenal team who can be very dicy away from home

Honestly - I dispair of some of the people here.

Obviously bitterly disappointing that we threw away a 2 goal lead, and that we always struggle against 10 men. But if it comes down to it, I'd place more importance on the points we dropped at home to Norwich and particularly Swansea. A point away at Stoke is a good point, if not for the manor of the point and Wigan and Reading winning we'd all be a lot happier.

The other angle shows that he was easily about 3 inches away from possibly breaking his leg

Great, I hit the wrong quote and took so long I now discover that Guly was MOTM. I turned the radio on just before he missed the sitter and Stoke scored.
Anyway my point is if he plays well I don't care where he's from. I loved him when he arrived but have wondered if the Prem is a step too far for him.

And he could have put us 4-1 up !!!! I'll be over it tomorrow.

I get your point and make no mistake to maintain our premiership status is precarious. But saying that we are still improving all the time and the spirit seems good which will be massive. Our January purchases will have a big bearing on whether we get those necessary points to stay out the bottom three.

These teams getting dragged into the mire is all great, but we also need to bloody take advantage of them and actually get some points to pull us out of the very same mire. By rights, we should have around the same amount of points as West Ham at the moment.

Yeah it did seem like a red on my not great stream, the way he went in really. Looked like a definite penalty for handball by Fonte though... heh heh heh

Likewise I understand that point of view, but it gets to a point where you can't just dismiss a lost lead and lost opportunity and look to the future, and start actually getting the points you need to survive when you have the opportunity to do so. That point could be when you have squandered more points from winning positions than you have actually accumulated, which after a quick mental totting up I believe we now have, 18 to 17. Obviously this does not tell the full story and there are mitigating circumstances and it is no reason to condemn us as hopeless just yet, but it is still not good enough from my point of view.

Obviously being human, I would rue the points dropped in close games if Saints were relegated by a point. But I think my ultimate view would be too look past that and realize Saints just weren't quite good enough unfortunately and move on.

All the sports in the US, every team plays a different schedule and then there are playoffs where a huge amount of luck is involved and probably at least 50% of the time the "champion" is not really the best team. So it's refreshing to follow a sport where it's a straight up challenge where every team plays home and away against every other team.

I don't dwell on Saints getting lucky and taking a thoroughly undeserved three points vs Leeds last year to get promoted, or Forte scoring two critical goals to get Saints out of League One, either. Those were fantastic games to watch just like this one in a lot of ways was frustrating but in the end the table tells the tale.

Lambert edged Guly. For some reason we lost domination of the middle of the park when they went down to 10.

Stoke tended to bypass it when they had posession, like they do, while we didn't hold on to it there when we had it.

We need to start turning the draws into wins, but not losing is important for morale. I don't subscribe to the view of some that a draw is useless because it keeps us ticking over. In this case, we are only a single point below two teams. It is possible for us to beat or draw with most teams at the moment and we didn't believe that after our first group of games.

I don't think anyone believes a draw is useless, however it's approximately a third less useful than a win. And a devastating late goal to only take a draw from being 3-1 up and then 3-2 up with a man advantage is about 10 times less useful than a huge away win against a side that were unbeaten in yonks.

    Does he ever?!

Bringing up another debate for my long car journey, why do Stoke even bother buying midfield players every window?. The way they play they pretty much bypass their midfield for every attack.
