Race row has increased Rangers team spirit Last Updated: November 16, 2011 10:38am Terry has been under fire since being accused of racially abusing Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand during Chelsea's 1-0 defeat at Loftus Road last month, a claim the England skipper strenuously denies. And Derry, 33, insists the incident has brought the players together and improved team spirit as they rallied to the defence of their team-mate. "Everyone has got an opinion, that is what makes it so interesting," he told talkSPORT. "What we do is come together as a team when we play. "For that situation alone, somebody might have a different view from the person sat right next to them in the changing room. "But automatically we are a team, he is our player and we are together. "He's our team-mate. What we can't do is voice opinions in the media because you're on a loser in that situation. "But, for us, Anton is our player and we're right behind him, just as John Terry is a Chelsea player and his team-mates are right behind him. That's how it's got to be in that dressing room." iReader
Potters' ground Posted by Brian Mahon 16 hours, 15 minutes ago Given Stoke City's poor run over the past few weeks, it would be easy to view this weekend's match as a ripe opportunity for QPR to nab three points, but this clash represents another tough test for the Hoops. The question is - are they up to the task?..................................http://blogs.soccernet.com/qpr/archives/2011/11/potters_ground.php
Mahon's comments about Adel being a fixture in midfield surprise me - I'll be surprised if he starts after the good performances without him against City, and 2nd half Spurs. Clint could get a game if Neil move's to stop Stoke's aerial threat, though cutting off the supply from the wings will probably leave Traore at left back.
QPR hope to upset the natives in Stoke again – history Wed 16th Nov 2011 18:58 by Clive Whittingham The Britannia Stadium is becoming one of Britain’s most feared grounds for visiting teams, but QPR’s recent record in this part of the world is actually very good and they’ll be hoping for more of the same this Saturday. http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/fb_news.php?storyid=14803
Sgt RORY DELAP I think should keep his mouth well and truly shut. That defeat hurt the fans more than he would ever know... DO it ON the pitch Rory not off it. NOT that I want him to start anyway. Team Begovic Wilko Huth Ryan Higgy Pennant Whitehead Palacios Etherington Walters Crouch Not that T.P. will be so bold and I might even play K.J. instead of Crouch, he scored the other night sh who knows what T.P. will do. I honestly have a bad feeling about this game, mainly because Tony Pulis will not attack from the start.. I think Q.P.R. will.
Mike Sheron. His sale to you is our 3rd biggest ever sale. £2.75m you bought him for, which was a massive amount of money for a Championship side to spend in 1997.
Tbf us boys have fond memories of Clint Hill runin throo many a brick wall for SCFC TOP MAN !! but dont u think that its a measure of how far we really have come to say seriously Clint Hill now wud not get in our reserves ? I think if QPR beat us on sat i will bear my arse in Hanley pmsl
Northolt your avatar (is that what its called?) with flabio/fernandez is absolutely awesome i love it
Reckon us and Potters are in for a threat, game promises to be a thumper. Difficult to call before it gets underway.
Barton and Wright-Phillips were Stoke City targets - Pulis Barton has scored once in eight games for QPR since his move from Newcastle Stoke City manager Tony Pulis had said that he made efforts to sign Joey Barton and Shaun Wright-Phillips in the summer, before the pair moved to QPR. "We spoke to Joey and we spoke to Shaun," Pulis told BBC Radio Stoke. "We were speaking to a lot of players at the time. There are always lots of different scenarios that get you a deal done or cause you not to get it done." The Potters, who have lost their last three Premier League matches, are at home to QPR on Saturday. Barton, 29, was made available for transfer by Newcastle after criticising the club's transfer policy on Twitter and joined QPR on 26 August. Wright-Phillips, 30, had fallen out of favour at Manchester City and joined the Championship winners five days after the signing of Barton. The former England pair have helped QPR to a current position of 11th in the Premier League, level on points with Stoke and one place above the FA Cup finalists. "From what people tell me, they'll be having a go again in January," said Pulis. "All three clubs that have been promoted have enjoyed a really good start to the season, which is really good and encouraging." Stoke will be looking to bounce back from a 5-0 defeat at Bolton in their last Premier League outing, a game that Pulis described as one of his worst in charge of the club. "On the day I was very disappointed," said the former Gillingham and Plymouth boss. "I've been at the club eight years in two spells and you can count on one hand the performances that have been really disappointing. "We'll get the international lads back on Thursday so we'll be back as a group and we can have a good chat about things because we've got two very tough games at home coming up [against QPR and Blackburn]." BBC Radio Stoke will have full match commentary of Stoke City v QPR from 1500 GMT on Saturday, 19 November. iReader
I didn't realise Rory Delap was 35!! I swear he seemed only late twenties a couple of seasons ago. Maybe all those ginormous throws age people faster like the guy at the end of Indiana Jones. You chose... poorly!
Northolt, I appreciate he was good for the Hoops, but the only thing that he did at Stoke was punch Peter Beagrie!
Pulis confirms what was widely reported but never confirmed. I reckon we would've got SWP had it not been for QPR getting taken over and getting more money into the club. No doubt QPR offered more money.
Lawro's Prediction for Stoke City v QPR Stoke City v QPR please log in to view this image Who would have thought five years ago that this would be a Premier League game? Stoke are struggling a bit to marry up playing in the Europa League for the first time with their league form and they had a shocker last time out by getting beat 5-0 at Bolton. But overall they get stronger every season and win the majority of their games at home. QPR have started the season well but they make a lot of mistakes defensively so I have to go with Stoke. Prediction: Stoke City 2-0 QPR Here are all of Lawro's 2011-12 Premier League predictions, together with how the League Table would look like if his 120 forecasts were all correct: http://www.myfootballfacts.com/Mark_Lawrensons_Predictions_2011-12.html iReader
Overview The future of knockout competitions in England rests with Stoke – opposition focus Thu 17th Nov 2011 19:33 by Clive Whittingham Stoke are an easy side to dislike, but in attempting to compete on four fronts this season they’re carrying the hopes of the dwindling numbers who still enjoy straight knockout football in this country. http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/fb_news.php?storyid=14812
