Haidara is awful defensively by the does offer width. If we play narrow and ask tiote/colback to cover the holes when full backs push then we offer a threat. I wish haidara would just learn to close people down and stop crosses.

I think that's harsh... He's growing in the game, and from all evidence presented thus far, he seems on a similar trajectory to Enrique when he was here. Better going forward, but bulking up and becoming stronger. When he's on, he's literally the best outlet on the wings.

The whole defence has been pretty **** at it's primary job thus far, but Janmaat and Haidara would be the two I'd say are most worthy of their places. Colo and Williamson have been an absolute horror show.

I have a bad feeling about this one. I hate watching Stoke play too.

Don't get me wrong I'd play him, mainly cause we look so devoid of pace which he has. Plus all of our central mid fields are workers and lack guile. He is not in enriques league though, not even in his early struggles. Enrique still tried to do the right thing. He got it wrong but tried. Haidara stands and watches people cross like an amateur. When does tackle he just trips the winger. He has so much to learn its unreal, however offensively he does offer a lot. Dummett us better defensively, and I don't think he is a good defender. For yes at present though, haidara us a better option. It's one thing being poor defensively, but once you can't attack you can't score you can't win games

Not liking P45due's latest comments. According to him Dummett is his No.1 left back now. If I was Haidara I'd be well and truly pi.sed off.

Where are these? Can't find them anywhere. To be fair neither has done enough to be described 1st choice.

Ahead of the match at Stoke, Alan Pardew has said that Paul Dummett has overtaken Massadio Haidara in making the left-back position his own.

Far better defender so I understand it but with our attacking problems, I'd take a risk on haidara

"Alan Pardew's side will debut their green & blue third kit, the fourth different design we've worn this season"

In that case, I think we'll win!

So far Dummett for me. Haidara needs more time. It's good they have some competition going.

Haidara left back, Arma left wing and Dummett centre forward. Go on Alan, you know it makes sense!

    Team News

(4-2-3-1): Krul; Janmaat, Coloccini (c), Williamson, Dummett; Tiote, Colback; Sissoko, Cabella, Gouffran; Riviere.

Subs: Elliot, S.Taylor, Anita, Obertan, Ameobi, Armstrong, Cisse.

Disappointed to see he's persisting with the 1 up top that's not suited to Riviere.
