Is this the same David Hughes we had play for us for a short length of time yonks ago? From memory a central defender and Welsh???
If he can get us three points in the next three games I would definitely look at extending his trial. With SM we know what we've got and I dread to think what our board are thinking for our next manager. If Morison can get us out of trouble, by that I mean keep us up and at the same time start teaching our players how to play proper football, it will be a start on the road to recovery.
Good news. Continuity of regime and tactics and consistency is so important for our emerging youngsters.
Rumour back in the day was that Kevin Radcliffe then Hughes’ manager got a fax from City offering to buy him for 50k. He told his chairman to bite City’s hand off as it was a great offer. The offer was accepted and a cheque came in for 500k as Radcliffe had misread the figure in the fax!
Just making my way up to Stoke, to give a team talk, Todge is going to try to inspire them. Might try to instigate a chat with Choo or Dalman, introduce myself...apparantly they are avid readers of my articles! Where the fug is Stoke?
Managed to take some video of the boys in training....need to get Morrison and Pack to get a trim, sort themselves out! Seem happy enough considering they have become a laughing stock....highly paid dicksplashes taking the pis! Love you pals!
Looks a balanced team. Im sure we'd like to change one or two of the players, but given the injuries and suspensions possibly the best we could hope for. Underlines the lack of a LB signing in the summer though.
Return to a back 5 with Ng and Giles as wingback? Or a back 4 with McGuinness at RB and NG at LB? I would prefer the 5 with players on their natural sides and both full backs well capable of getting forward - as wing backs should be. Bacuna as a natural defensive midfielder, his best position, if he turns up. Evans and Colwill will have to work hard getting up and back and giving more good support. I don't hold out any great hopes but the team has a much better balance.
I think it's the first game Flint has missed. Looks like a different structure to the side altogther. Giles is not an attacking force in his own right and will be far better coming forward from deeper. If Colwill and Evans can stay up and around Moore rather than dropping deep, there could be some potency up front for a change. A lot will depend on Vaulks and Bacuna being up to running the midfield without expecting too much help from the front guys.
This is an incredibly vintage run. Currently: Pld: 9 Lost: 8 Scored: 1 Conceded: 23 I look forward to the further records we are currently breaking
I think the words are is that it doesn’t exist and hasn’t for about 3 seasons. How the board have let it get to this is where the words fail me
