Yeah. I hate being harsh, but we need players right now, not in a month or twos time. Might be too late by then. I doubt Neil or Jobe sit out for him, but the minutes Neil in particular is grinding out again is unreal tbh. Even just giving him 15 mins at the end of a game would be beneficial.

I’d love to know what’s happened with Ba. Always thought he had so much raw potential but attitude seemed to be an issue wonder if that’s what’s seen him frozen out. Said when we signed Poveda it seemed like a daft transfer when we have Ba and now we’ve got neither.

Does experience only come with age? How many senior games have Neil, Jobe, Aouchiche and Isidor played?

Mate we lost, despite dominating the game so any stat that shows us being poor will used as gospel to justify it.

You should know the routine now

Sure they said after november internationals, then christmas games and now its after the FA Cup game.

he'll then need match fitness and to avoid injury, not exactly someone id be hanging my hat unfortunately

also plays in neil role and dans having a bit of a renaissance of late, rather we got a 8 through the door

I'd prefer a proper holding midfielder to allow Dan to play further up the field.

Been at a family gathering all day so missed the game or even coverage.

We were due a loss. It’s a shame it’s come on a winnable game. But after 90 mins it could have gone either way. Take one of our chances and this thread goes completely differently.

Still an excellent season and it’s important the team move on quick.

sometimes you lose. We’re lucky it’s rare this season. I don’t miss this happening every week like earlier this year.

I never mind seeing a player shoot personally. Auchiche will be desperate to impress I think. His first start and, imo, looked good on the ball. He needs to look up more.

Mayenda again misses our best chance. Snatched at it a bit. Honestly think he’s better under pressure than with time! Poor result, poor ref, created plenty which, in all honesty, I’d be more worried about if we didn’t

well there’s a lot of posts from people that don’t post as much when we win. But I think that’s fair enough, people use this forum as a chance to vent frustrations. Nothing wrong with that.

But the game hinged on taking chances, from what I can see it’s not like we were outplayed. But perhaps if we’d scraped a win it would have papered over some cracks anyway.

It’s always busier on here after a loss. Only Edwin in the time I’ve been mod where it’s been busier is the play off final! Just the way it is really. I thought the chances we created deserved more than we got. Their keeper had a very good game, the referee had an equally bad game. 3 or 4 of their chances were as a result of blatant fouls, and obviously the 2 penalties. Defender couldn’t believe his luck when Mayenda stayed on his feet! Borderline red too as it was an intentional foul to stop a goal scoring attempt.

Its extremely frustrating, I saw SSN at work. Shame that we missed our chances. Got a good opportunity Wednesday to make up for the last two games. Its crap, but we are still in it.

For me, there's huge pressure on Speakman and Kyril this window, people will want to see ambition shown. I've a sneaky feeling, there's gonna be a lack of something come the end of the window.

Realistically, you've got a lot of players coming back throughout Jan, but really we need recruits for the first week of Jan.

Maybe I’m just a pessimist but I can’t see us making a signing until the last week of January.

I may be an optimist but im still delighted with where we are at. 4th at new year with only 4 defeats is great. I think we can stay in that top 6

Me too mate, and I walked out of there absolutely sickened tonight.

I know people want a quick fix and 'three quality signings' to get us up to the PL ...

    ... I'm not convinced tbh.

We've done all that before and got nowhere.

I’m really hoping the board are aware of how big a window this is and the chance we have at going up. There needs to be serious signings made. 3/4 quality players who can impact us from the get go at least.

**** this up and we can say goodbye to a good few of our best young players next summer I reckon

Really tough as the objective truth is that our squad doesn’t have any gaps and is pretty massive already. We’ve got plenty of players - good ones at that. And while today smarts - and we may well ultimately miss out - once again it’s objectively true that we ARE challenging for automatic promotion. Still, there’ll be plenty queuing up to criticise the lack of ambition if we don’t spend big this January.

Fans will always want more when it comes to transfers. SAFC socials are full tonight with people finally getting to post ‘our squad isn’t strong enough’ with their whole chest. Some of the usual suspects have no doubt had them stored in the drafts. Ultimately we just need to keep trying to improve and worry less about the sugar rush of big spending. You’ll never truly satisfy people in the transfer market.

Quality signings for me isn’t spending millions. It’s about getting players of a decent age with some decent experience in senior football. That should be a minimum this window
