Poveda won't play more than 5 games this season. Seems a silly silly signing on a 3 year deal.

    cheers again RTB...

was i the only one who half expected a kick in the teeth the day?

not sure what has happened, whether it is down to injuries or RLB has been trying to introduce different things into the squad but early season we were a squad that did not give goals away, we knew that one goal was not enough but we knew how to see a game out without letting the opposition in with even a sniff of a goal.

i am giving up on the officials again, i was happy to see the improvements over league one but currently they have been just as bad, nobody, wherever they wer ein the ground could possibly miss mepham being pulled over to stop him scoring but these latest clowns did.

not slagging these lads off mind but work needs to be done in front of both goals, we are getting in and around the box but never seem to know what to do, the current thought seems to be 'hit it and see' and while it might end with a worldie or two it is not reliable, we need better creativity, adil did ok i thought but was probably the main one that could have used the ball better, aleksic was sound enough in fact, i can't say anyone was bad but things just never fell for us at all....think we lose the next one as well despite watching them earlier and thinking they had nowt about them, but after that we really need to get back to early season form.

MotM is a difficult one and despite his final ball troubles mine goes to Adil, he worked the wing very well and was always busy and running.

For me there are 5 or 6 at risk if we don’t go up. Obviously it’s a worry that that includes our entire starting midfield. However, we’d be talking north of £70m if all go. We really should be able to adequately replace them with that sort of money - and would probably expect to at least partially cover those internally. If we can get that long term striker in the building in January it at least means we’re only looking for like for like replacements in the summer. I’m genuinely not terrified by the prospect, though. Also it will no doubt be dynamic. One or two sales might move the needle on contract negotiations for instance.

    Absolutely

Simply not enough quality when compared with the sides above us. Nothing wrong with that either, they’re all working with far greater budgets

I can think of three vividly

one, isidor is played into midfield, drives forward and pushes it forward to aouchice, left foot and hits side netting, theres nothing else on. If he'd stopped and chopped inside people would be screaming why didnt he shoot

secondly the ball across from onien, the chance is wasted when our centre forward is initially not screaming straight on to it, i dont think any of options were better than his to shoot from

third the shot from outside of the box, could have slipped mayenda in

look, no one is perfect and never will be but to look at the data and slander him in a way is kinda criminal, the root cause of not winning today is really not having a natural centre forward challenging for balls driven and crossed across the six yard box, there were at least 4 balls put into dangerous areas that not one player was challenging for.

Point blank header in the second half that he sent comfortably over the bar.
He doesn’t threaten enough and spends too much time on the ground.
We need better options than all of our current strikers.
I’d have been giving Trey a run out for the last 20 minutes today.

This game was a 0-0 all day and we've been suckeered at the end, we can get away with playing the likes of Mayenda and Aouchiche out wide one at a time, but we need at least one proper winger in the team to be competitive, too many average performances across the board today, you need a few players to step up and win the game, we can't expect Jobe to be that player every week. We've been unlucky with injuries but we could use a real injection of quality if any is available in our price range.

Basically not at the required fitness level in training so didn't make the match squad. Story of his entire career.

You’ve just made that chance up for your own amusement

if you’re talking about his actual header he was almost on the edge of the box and had to generate all power himself

The only ball really driven across today was O9s when he was miles ahead of everyone because we pinged a long ball and he crossed the ball too early mind

It is the one thing I havent really liked about his game since he arrives. At times his vision is really poor and he makes the wrong choice too often. In key situations and tight games it is as poor a mistake to make as a defensive balls up to be honest. Having said that today was better than I have seen from him, but I just dont see him figuring much when everyone is fit.

arguably yes and arguably no, the distance of our main forwards from that is a glaring sign there an issue. Yes onien was the only driven ball but i did say driven and crossed, and aouchiche crossed 2 good plays across the six yard box.

additionally on the topic of xG today i think its a massive misdemeanour in relation to todays game, i can think of two examples in recent weeks, one being neils rocket arguably low xG but were not screaming for him not to shoot and secondly isidors roll back to jobe on boxing day, arguably a greater xG chance but was still spooned into row Z by jobe, a different day, a different keeper maybe its a different scoreline today, a real number 9 and maybe he notches one of these crosses, for me the latter is more the issue today

Shame about that, especially after Sheff Utd played so poorly …

… and our support was so good.

    Some good opinions on Isidor.

I dont think it as easy to say we dont make chances for him. In my opinion a striker has a key role to play in the creation of the chance. Mostly that is about his movement in the build up. It can be the double movement to lose hia marker, either side to side or back and forward. It can be the run across the front post. It can be that strength to get across his man. Those are things players need to open the pass for the chance. I am not convinced he does that naturally. It is a really simple coaching tactic to get a striker to keep hitting that front post area. Lee Johnson brought McGeady back and told Wyke to keep getting there. He did and scores bucketloads. I am sure Regis and co are trying to find those same routines with Wilson. I just dont see that natural instinct with him, maybe because he has played less through the middle.

I do note the club perhaps didnt see him as the CF when buying him. I think he is playing their out of necessity. Even Mayenda got the shirt at the start of the season until injury struck. He actually played really well for 4 games. I think the powers that be will be looking for the type of CF they have built the squad towards in Jan. I hope they land him too. Wilson can still play a really good role for the team, and may well be freed up to showcase his own natural instincts more.

Anyway, great news about Rigg. Any news on Samed at all yet? Wasnt he back in training in December?

Always a week away ain't he ? If he isn't ready when Jan comes round, get his loan terminated and use the funds for someone who is able to contribute. No room for players who are unavailable for half a season. Especially if they are not our own. We are not a NHS waiting room.

I’ve not made it up at all.
He wasn’t almost on the edge of the box, it was a clear header from around 12 yards with enough pace on the ball, it just needed to be headed down into either corner.
    It was a poor header.

Hit the post twice, Mayenda header, Aouchiche shot that Hume put wide, Isidor chance when Aouchiche set him up…
