Of course but surely now is the time to get a little more established quality than roll of the dice youngsters. We have enough of them IMO. We need a bit more to help our stars out.

Exactly. A real lack of experience in our front 6 today

    Jobe - 19
    Neil - 23
    Mayenda - 19
    Aleksic - 19
    Aouchiche - 22
    Isidor - 24

I’ll be delighted with it too. But I’ll be honest I expect it.

We have not been outplayed this season. We have played poorly on occassions, but even then, not outplayed. I also dont believe 'itll come'......because its already here. 4 defeats before Jan 1st! We do actually score plenty of goals, we dont concede many. Generally, as long as that balance continues, im happy.

Looking at the current table, I do now. Certainly didn’t at the start of the season

We score a lot but it’s not sustainable and that’s why we get games like today

We were outplayed down at Plymouth in the 2nd half, they’re arguably the worst side in the league

Late goals conceded is our downfall i guess from fatigue, which suggests game management problems .. anyway we just lost to what i think is the worst team we have played so far .. they remind me of us in our double relegation year .. v lucky to get those points .

Bellingham Rigg & Dan Neil are premiership quality and will be gone if we do not go up. With this in mind the club need to find a proven striker to get us up otherwise we will have missed 3 golden eggs which cost next to nothing. I hope we use the £75 - £100 million wisely.
Mundle, Watson & today AA playing wide left. This is the position we use after we press and create space. Everyone on the team works hard for this player to provide a finish.

To say AA was our best player today is a stretch. Yes he put one on a plate for Mayenda but he also made a lot of poor selfish choices shooting weakly whenever he could of rolled an oncoming player in for a better opportunity. To get promoted we have to judge these lads by high standards.
Jack Clarke had 15 goals and 4 assists last year playing wide and finishing the chances we created.
This window of opportunity does not come around very often. RLB should be judged similar to the players. We expect promotion, now go deliver.

To me when patterns emerge within any team, its the managers job to solve. Too often we start slow, we were better today and too often we concede late. Are players making tired mistakes because we are not using enough fresh legs??
The players should know, dont concede free kicks or corners in dying minutes. No high balls allowed in the box. Clear lines early and play in their half in closing minutes. Our corners need to improve, apart from Dennis running around the back,(he scored early in season) I havent noticed a pattern all season. Its not difficult, just be clever.

Sheff Utd are well drilled but nothing special, If we play well, & get a bit of overdue luck, we will win.

The fans have backed the club as always Now go invest in January and achieve promotion like this team deserves.

Our form since Nov is poor, and I’m pretty sure we will finish outside the top 6.
Sheff U will win on NYD and the poor inconsistent form will continue.
The “right” signings may stop the slide, but I doubt it.
Our defence is poor, and cannot stop giving away sloppy goals.
I’m actually glad we have points in the board, as I think we will drop to the bottom 10 by the end of the season.

I don’t think we’ll ever get ‘established quality’ in terms of seniority. But we can get more ability for sure. If we can lay our hands on a striker who is a good age, who has the right profile but also one who we believe in for next season regardless of our league (and one who will happily play for us next year regardless of league) then I’m happy.

There is a part of me that wonders if it would be the best way to grow the squad ability though. Constant evolution is the way we’re aiming to do things. It may be easier for us to take greater leaps if we move ourselves forward with summer money. Difficult to know one way or another without the benefit of accounts and scouting info. I’d hate us to go chasing autos and overpay in January on a lesser player. No matter what we think as fans, we’re nowhere near ‘now or never’. In fact the way the club is being run the aim is to avoid that completely. Let’s hope that the perfect deal is there for us. It’s nice to go into the window looking to improve, that they than desperately trying to plug gaps though.

Not really, they were the much better side second half

Anyway, we’re doing okay. A play-off campaign looks very likely

True. We also have to consider our own talent too and likelihood to keep past Jan into next year. Dan Neil for example and his contract.....

Anyone who thinks we are top 2 contenders are off the mark. Top 6 is our aim and we are in track to achieve that. Frustrating that a win today would have been massive with others dropping points. January is big not huge for me tho. A quality winger and another striker will do me.

We have a decent team/squad but we are championship days like today happen. Let's not lose our **** over it.

Sat on it for an hour

pre game it was said neil and bellingham needed to have big games, I certianly neil did, neat, tidy, won possession, kept possession and sprayed it about. Didnt see as much of that from Bellingham or any real forward threat.

Thought Mayenda was poor and aleksic whilst doping the rigg shuffling role didnt offer terribly much but was combative in tackling.

Aouchice was our focal point today and tbf to isidor i did think he was ok today, so with that said 3 of our forward 6 not really impactful

Additionally theres talk of aouchiches decision making but he got shots on target and flashed the ball across the six yard box. Onien did the same and for the life of me I cant understand why the striker isnt just there to get on it straight away, its bread and butter forward play. Instead it rolls all away across to aouchiche who hits the target and really cant do much more than beat the keeper but it aint easy. We need a predator in the box

Back four not calamitous but cirkin had a poor game

AA had 6 shots today with an xG of 0.2. Average of just over 0.03 xG per shot. He was just shooting from all angles
