rafa signed alonso and torres but he then went off and signed keane and aquilani for the same moeny.... rafa could make mistakes too! look i'd love to think that if we had been in the CL and not hampered by G&H so badly we might have gotten mata (more realistic than villa, silva or aguero) and that martinez who's gone to bayern as well.... i think we have to put SOME context on andy carroll... it was panic but for a reason.
Rafa only wanted Keane if he could get Barry as well if they could only get one he wanted Barry but Parry didnt listen and went ahead and bought Keane. Aqualani was purchased becuase we had no money and Roma owed us money for Riise and Aqua was the only player Rafa thought would be any good. Same with Glen Johnson and Portsmouth (Crouch Money).
