My point was just that every football fan says their 'keeper is a good shot stopper but a bit dodgy at kicking.

A bit like everyone needs another striker who will score 20+ goals and a midfielder who can unlock a defence.

The fact is, 'keepers are told to aim for players right near the touchline so inevitably it ends up going straight off the pitch half the time.

I''ve never been too confident with Stockdale - better than Jakopovic (sp? I'm sure there's a U in there somewhere) and Gulasci (sp ? remember him?) and I think the ironic relieved cheers whenever he successfully caught the ball shows that the fans were not too sure of Stockdale either.

I would not buy him at any price but would look around for someone more solid/dependable.

Stockdale's distribution is terrible, I wouldn't even take him on a free

Jakupovic isn't as bad as everybody made him out to be, he just made a mistake and it cost him his place. I still think he's better than Ben Amos. The guy played for Lokomotiv Moscow and Grasshopper Zurich, who are both much bigger clubs than ours and people forget that he kept 3 consecutive clean sheets (our longest run of clean sheets this season) before his blunder. He'll be back up to whoever comes in next year - he might not ever play for us again, but if our Number 1 gets injured then I think he'll be fine as a stand in.

I still think Scott Carson would be a great shout, but I'm not sure how much Bursaspor would want.
