We coped ok without Aluko, all we need is a striker and Elmo back which we could easily have sorted by next week. We should have enough to get something from tommorow if its on that is.
Thought wrong then. I'm happy to say jolly decent of Martin Jol and Fulham. Mind you I didn't personally criticise the recall either, though I was unhappy we lost him. On another note you lot seem happier to keep the aforementioned Martin Jol then you were a week or so ago. Good luck for the rest of the season, I hope you win every game between now and then.
Brucey said on the radio that there will probably be a recall clause, but the loan rules say that long-term loans (including half season ones) can't be recalled except in the January window. So once this month finishes they can't recall him unless there's some sort of special dispensation from the FA like we had with Gulacsi a couple of years ago, but that was only because all parties wanted him recalled. I think if we want to keep him they can't recall him.
Thank you for that. I came on here before to get an opinion on how he had done during his loan spell and was shocked to find the comments on here regarding Fulham and Jol. We were under no obligation to loan out our second goalkeeper, and he kept three clean sheets in five games am I not mistaken? So obviously a decent move. Over the moon for David, who deserves regular football at a club where he is appreciated, unfortunately Jol doesn't seem to rate him. As for the recall clause, we are on the verge of signing Stecklenberg (spelling) from Roma, who would be in front of both Stockdale and Schwarzer, so I wouldn't assume Jol would recall Stockdale unless we had a serious injury situation at the club.
They'd just repay the fee. Fulham would need to be in a position where they only had 1 senior keeper available due to injuries to be able to recall him. They're going to have Schwarzer, another keeper they're signing, and the guy who was on the bench when Stockdale played all on pro contracts, so they'd need 2 of those 3 to be injured at the same time, and they would be told to recall Stockdale before the FA would allow them to sign a keeper from elsewhere (like Man City were allowed to do a few years ago) QPR had the situation last season where when Kenny and Murphy were injured they had to recall Elvijs Putnins from a loan at a non-league side to cover for Cerny, because they'd stupidly given him another year as a pro despite knowing he wasn't good enough (because "he's a nice kid").
