Stock taking

Possession stats generally say more about the team's style of play than their ability.
There are exceptions though, when teams try to play a possession game and get totally outplayed.
Low possession is normal for Leicester. It's catastrophic for Arsenal.

This is a game by game comparison of our match results to last season.

Man utd ... same points as last season

So after 26 matches we are plus 8 points when you compare our season match by match per team!

3 defeats in 26 prem games
Not lost by more a single goal in prem or our cup matches
not conceded more than 2 goals in a match
2nd in table
8 points better off game by game on last season
Best defence in the prem
Plus 27 gd (best in prem and 2nd best in all 4 divisions)
had a 14 game unbeaten run
won our last 5 prem games

Its bloody amazing...but you just know it'll all go wrong in a very unusual but spursy way <laugh>

Its bloody amazing...but you just know it'll all get a lot better when we win all of our remaining Prem games and go on to win the Europa & FA to complete an incredible treble for the club <whistle>

Just fixed it a little for you mate <ok>

<laugh>.

"Its bloody amazing...but you just know it'll all go wrong in a very unusual but spursy way"

Awaiting this seasons' <standard> can almost be as stomach-churning as any excellent
performances. :( :)

I do find our epic failures comforting in a weird way...a bit like when my 18 yr daughter comes home.
I worry when she's out even though she is safe, last night she came in around 12.30am and I could then go to sleep knowing all is good in my world. ..if spurs ever won something my safety blanket will be gone...I might have to start believing <yikes>

You are way to optimistic to be a true spur <laugh>

Blame Poch, he's making me believe! Lol.

I went from one of the most pessimistic twats under AVB to a guy who's now dreaming of throwing roses at Pochettino and the team when they do a bus tour after completing the treble <laugh>

If we win the prem this season I will be waiting for relegation next season...that's how a true Spur thinks <laugh>

And Spurs have broken their +30 GD barrier for the first time in the PL era.
Still on target for GA in the 30s (could be in the 20s by the end :emoticon-0104-surpr ) .

Another way of looking at it is to look at the teams who don't even have a mathmatical chance of finishing above us already:
Bournemouth
Swansea
Crystal Palace
Norwich
Sunderland
Newcastle
Aston Villa

That's 1/3 of the league, and a few of the teams on that list have a game in hand on us.

St Totteringhams day ain't cancelled quite yet, hopefully it will be sometime in April. It might be good to have a Saint Emiroids Day, the day when the Goons realise that Spurs are a pain in l'arse.

Reactions: Hoddle is a god
So much for those stats that show Woezil and Mahrez being the best midfielders in the Prem.
