5/10 for me. As Bob Dylan said "There's too much confusion". We've got a squad assembled for 5-3-2 with 6 CB's, and now there is a problem what to do with them all, if we stick to 4 at the back, which works best. Our No.1 striker is a flop and the TC as a striker experiment has failed. We've got a manager fist-pumping the covered end after a good win, then 10 minutes later talking about leaving. It doesn't feel like we're in a good place.
I’m bored watching us - seen just 3 games and evaluate as follows 3/10 entertainment factor 7/10 position in league - not happy with it but could be worse - not sure it deserves to be better. 5/10 team strength - got 4 decent players and after that squad is mediocre 7/10 Manager is marmite I like him but would avoid taking to him in a lift Promotion prospects about 20%
I think your post is pretty much spot on. The downside with Jones is that I get the impression that he has an explosive temperament which could be his/our downfall.
I would say promotion prospects 10 per cent. Entertainment value 2/10 Players that could play in the Championship. Ramsay, Mitchell, Jones, Edwards. Leaburn, Godden and Aneke as sub.
Only Ten Percent You’ve got to look at who is capable of out performing us this season. Birmingham - definitely. Wrexham - very likely. Then you have Bolton, Huddersfield, Peterborough and Barnsley - realistically, our peers. Then you have the surprise packages this season, Blackpool, Lincoln and Nigel Clough’s Mansfield Town As a certain Carry On star on ITTV would put it - “perhaps we might want to be like Mansfield Town?” …after another ten games of course.
I just don’t fancy us. No prolific goal scorer. No creative midfielder. I just don’t think we will score enough goals.
Even with a new system and looking decent we really created little to nothing last week. Over a season that’s going to show. Just outside the playoffs is where I think we are going to be.
There was Kanu's shot which would have been a goal if he'd been unselfish and passed to Anderson, also his shot just past the post and Godden's shot just over the bar. IF we keep playing like that there's hope, but it's a big IF.
