The next few weeks will show whether or not Roland has learned anything from his 2 years.

If RD or KM had a clue, Fraeye would have been history this morning.

If we had a hot tub, with a commanding view of the pitch, that would be a sure winner for me. I can relax, drink champagne and watch football at the same time...

Obviously I'd be host to some quality 3pm and 7:45pm private pool parties.

My prediction for January is this -

Watt sold to Cardiff, and money trousered.

Bergdich released to obscurity despite still sitting on 3.5 years of his contract.

Harriott recalled from Colchester, with Fraeye told by Meire to say 'it's like signing a new player'

2-3 new recruits scouted via You Tube from the nether regions of the Belgium and French leagues.

It won't be anywhere near enough of course, but then relegation has never been a concern for the Belgians has it.

No because then he can bring on more players from the Academy on smaller wages. I wondered whether he already had this in mind when he handed Kennedy a contract extension, when Kennedy hasn't shown any sign of being any more than a L1 squad player(hope he proves me wrong btw). Attendances will be pitiful next season anyway, whatever league we're in. If The Plan is for Charlton to be the Crewe Alexandra of the South, it will be easier to operate this working model in L1 or even L2.

    FHB-

The Crewe analogy is not a bad one. They also play in a stadium with lots and lots of empty red seats. I suppose that is one of the consequences of existing as little more than a feeder club, which is what RD's model for Charlton points to us becoming.

I think 99% of Charlton fans have now seen that Fraeye is not good enough, yet the silence is deafening.

How does Roland know whether or not he's good enough though? We played well for 25 minutes on tuesday, maybe that's enough. His CEO won't be able to give him a knowledgeable report on any football matters, in fact who knows what BS she gives him? Which one of them thinks that every managerial change has been a success? He's had his annual visit to SE7, when he congratulated the manager on the first-half performance against Brighton. Football knowledge is not part of Roland's Vision.

For Xmas some one should have written a book entitled

"Duchatelet, Meire & Fraeye's Bumper Book of Footballing Classics" <cheers>

There would be so many to choose from in 2015. Here are my personal favourites-

Douche congratulating Carol on an excellent result at Brighton - the first half result that is. We actually lost the game.

Meire telling CAST try hard Pemberton to shut his gob at the fan's meeting.

Carol claiming all was well with the team because everyone was smiling at Sparrows Lane <laugh>

You are all giving him too much credit, he's just an idiot. He is still making a loss, even after selling Gomez and will continue to make a loss whatever division we are in. He'd have to sell 3 Gomez level players every year to make a profit and that's not going to happen.

Our CEO can't deal a deck of cards, let alone negotiate a transfer deal.

Has she taken a vow of silence? Or has she simply gone in the huff, after taking a look at the online opinions of her performance? She did pose for a photo in the OS, in a pretty dress though, maybe she has a new role as eye-candy. Or maybe it's Fraeye's job to be Roland's mouthpiece. Going by past performances she will soon give Fraeye a vote of confidence, although she did go silent when she/Roland sacked Luzon and installed Fraeye, leaving it to the unfortunate Olly Groome to have to come up with stuff about him "masterminding our escape from relegation". As someone on CL pointed out, Olly has stopped the Charlton Loanwatch feature on the OS since Tony Watt went to Cardiff "to get some game time" and installed himself as a favourite there. I wonder what spin Olly will put on it when Watt's move becomes permanent? Too difficult a job for our CEO.

Very good point re loan watch. Watching Tony Watt flourish is just another depressing element to a very miserable season.

A different player when he has quality around him.

Thanks. I keep posting that, but posters insist he will run the club as a nursery and profit from selling young starlets. That is nonsense. Firstly, as you say, Lookmans, Gomezes, Poyets and Shelveys come along rarely. One a season would be very optimistic. Plenty of Foxes, Ahearne-Grants and Kennedys, but you receive only nominal amounts for selling those.

But more critical will be that, if we sell our own products and do not spend the money on mature quality replacements, we will slide down the divisions, reducing attendances and other income. The result will be that talented schoolkids will not be attracted to join us. We will only get the rejects. Some of those may unexpectedly blossom as late-developers, but nowhere near enough to sustain our team, let alone provide a profit after the expenses of running the club.

I realise that Crewe managed it for decades, but no longer. Football has changed. And they are the only club in the Football League who made it their sole strategy.

He may be a brilliant businessman in other spheres, but in football he is more like Homer Simpson than Mr Burns.
