I'm responding to claims about Bruno being specifically a Deep Lying player, when in reality he doesn't HAVE to play there and this relates to discussions we've had where me and others have suggested a positional change for bruno.
A game? As in once? Like a single time? A one off? Never before, never again? he’s a DLP had always been a DLP and all your fantasies of him being a goal scoring game changer are exactly that. Your fantasy. You know the square root of **** all and your marks out of 10 although good for a hoot in the pub after a match are exactly that. They are taken and talked about as a pisstake comedy sketch. He simply does not have the mindset or skill set to play elsewhere because he’s first class at the job he does. Leave those who know tactics and football to deal with the team affairs and support the lads rather than criticising you boring, clueless, bedwetting Mong. Ps. Check I’ve not posted a match thread in future once I’m blocked ****er
We just don't need this I mean we come on here to get away from things and we've got the same old faces causing friction and trouble.
I'm partial to a bit of formation porn myself, like. I just think the better players we have don't quite suit the things we're still doing the same nearly 2 years later. I mean, was the brief "I need another Longstaff, just a better one" and we got Tonali? Maybe it is, I'm not privy to these things. My take on it isn't about a piece of paper, it's about understanding that Bruno is seen by the opposition as the key part to close down - and when they've closed him down, he/we have struggled. Both Magdad and Tash are right in my opinion - Bruno is definitely a deep lying playmaker, but also could benefit from a tactical tweak - my preference is get him alongside Tonali in the old double pivot, but as has been pointed out this is just my opinion, my fantasy, and I know far less than those in charge. So opinion on a forum is where this will stay.
