Patience is a virtue, some have it, some don´t
Rewarded in the long run it will be or it won´t,
Whether you belong on one side or the other
Will determine if it causes joy or just bother,
Many will say we´ve been patient enough
With Neil, who they say just does not know his stuff,
Then there are those who steadfastly maintain
That any change won´t give significant gain,
And then to the rest, who´re somewhere in between
Not that sure, but still firmly yellow and green,
´Time´s running out´ is already the call
But really it´s not quite that bad, after all,
The object this year, that they all undertook
Was promotion any way, by hook or by crook,
Now me, I can wait for as long as it takes
While some want to hurtle there, using no brakes,
I see that our leader has been nominated
For that well known award, that leaves them deflated,
But sure signs, if any are needed right now
That we´re moving up out of our lowest low,
And here in this month of sub-zero heat
Why shouldn´t we dream of a Wembley repeat,
Just as one win doesn´t make us world champs
So one draw or loss shouldn´t light warning lamps,
There´s about twenty-four hundred hours still to go
Before anyone here can possibly know,
Whether this year has been what one could call success
Or whether we´ll just have to put up with less.
