I agree none of em are irreplaceable but starting again every year doesn't work imo. I don't think we are directly comparable to Leicester and thats why I said we would still need to make signings to improve the first team but it is a great example of when you show faith to good players who aren't performing consistently, some take time to adapt and I feel some of our players are struggling with that.
Fine if you have great players we don't. Granted Murphy and Wootton might improve, Byram might get his form back but that is it. Ross is already playing at full capacity, I would bet money on him never hitting the back of the net again this many times. Those Leicester players were not promising ones, they were good ones, yes we have some youngsters who might develop but that is different
Not exactly, Drinkwater was put up for sale by them in the summer, and guess what he just missed out on player of the season in the championship. Liam Moore who has been almost an ever present for them barely played last season and is a young player that has come through for them, ask any Leicester fan and they think he can play for England. They all also thought Vardy was ok but never good enough to start in their first team and now he is their best striker, there are actually many cases of this in that Leicester team where players who were distinctly average last season are now their core and best players. There is no reason to believe the likes of Mowatt or Murphy can't do the same next season and build on from their first seasons at the club, same with Stewart and maybe Hunt even. Again, not saying we don't need to sign players as we clearly do and for the first team as well rather than squad players but I don't believe in sacking a manager who has done exactly what the fans expected of him and especially in his first season at the club. He has for the most part signed younger players who will grow with the club. If he doesn't do well next season then I am really ready to accept he is the wrong person for the club, managing Leeds United just seems like such a hard job and it seems unfair to give a manager 1 season to get promoted or to get shipped out.
I wasn't looking for promotion Josh. I was looking for a slowly improving team that could play decent football and get better and stronger. Not a team that has progressively got worse with week after week poor performances and results. Hoping Hunt and Stewart improve is like being blind to accepting how bad Varney was. It is also about formations, tactics, team selection, spotting when a game needs a tactical substitution, seeing that Kebe is garbage, McDermott has shown he hasn't got it
Sorry josh, I stopped reading when you made the Stewart hunt point. Two shocking wastes of wages. Quite frankly they are two of many that should be packed on a bus and driven as far from Leeds as possibly, permanently. Shocking McD signings. Sackable offence alone for mcd
dear me Elland, you really want nominating for the SBA dont you. First you bet on scum winning, and now your ringing ferret faces praises.
To be fair to gigs, he is an exception to the rule. One thing I will say in defence of our players performances, I honestly believe they are not capable of anything better. They've played about forty games this season including cup matches. About three quarters of those games have been utter dross so it's not suddenly down to lack of effort. I've said it before but with exception of McCormack, I couldn't care less if whole lot were scrapped in summer
@josh Drinkwater played 42 times for them last season and reports say he had a very good season so probably more to it than that. Vardy had a large fee attached and was jumping from non league To Championship hardly a fair comparison
Why not. I score with your mrs all the time. I am only fat because everytime we do the deed she gives me a biscuit.
You'll need all the money from selling Ross Mc to pay to GFH, you'll get £3m at the most for him and that'll only cover 3 months losses given Leeds are losing £1m a month!
