Does anyone remember the original clock? I once read a very funny thread on the old BBC606 by Cardiff fans who were discussing how they took our clock in retaliation for SB3 and his 657 mates chasing them around their own stadium. Obviously it was during the time when footie fans were not so well behaved, but 30 odd years later it's quite a funny story. The clock still exists, in bits, in various garages/sheds, in Cardiff.
England have just been bowled out for 375 in their 2nd innings, so Australia need 311 to win. Will they get them?
Aus 28-0 at lunch on day four. 283 more to get. England will be looking for an early breakthroug after the break!
Root takes a wicket with the last ball before tea, but the Aussies are 111-2, needing exactly 200 more to win. Time for Graham to send them down the Swanny in the evening session!
I went home yesterday with the Aussies 138-3 so I was delighted this morning to see them at 174-6 at the close. This could be a nail biter. England need 4 wickets. Australia need 137 runs! or as it says on the BBC live text: The basic facts are this: England need four more wickets to take a 1-0 lead in this Ashes series, Australia need 137 runs. Logic says an England win at some point before lunch, but this match has had more twists and turns than a twisty turny thing. Are we in for one more dramatic, heart-stopping, exhilarating session?
291-9 at lunch. The last pair have added 60 and need 20 more. England just need one perfect delivery!
What's going with Coventry City? Last I heard, they refused to play at the Ricoh despite being offered it with no rent for the season.
Just read story that Scotty Allan of WBA is joining Birmingham City on loan next season - lucky Brum. Let us hope that his driving has improved
Football chants for cricket matches. Any suggestions for the current ashes series? I can think of "can we play you every year" and "Are you Zimbabwe in disguise"
Oh dear, the owner of Farnborough FC and the chairman (I think) are having a very public and vociferous argument with each other on the Farnborough forum. Talk about cringe-worthy. Zimbabwe are one of the better non-Test nations and has some kind of cricket pedigree, it should be something like, are you Canada in disguise.
Pompey Ladies' fixtures have finally been announced. The blues start with a home tie against Chesham United. It would be amazing if it was played at Fratton Park. Do you guys want me to do team previews this season maybe?
