    Hate to break the love-in lads, but could we get back to the fact Downing has signed for us?!

    What do people think of him? He is making the right sounds in his interview.

    Anyway as for downing, he is a bit like the rest of our signings since suarez. Not exactly who I wanted but good player none the less and our squad is stronger with him in it.

    The thing I have been really pleased about is that all the signings (exc doni who i dont know about) have made the right noises for wanting to come here.i know it has to do with money too but I feel they are all sold on KK and the Liverpool ethos.
    A couple more signings and I think we are ready to rock 'n' roll.YNWA

    yep looks like they are happy with the dealings they have done so far and I am so pleased they have sorted them out early so they can integrate better.I still think there may be 2 more signings but I would really like to see us shipping out some of the deadwood.Players like Paulson,N'gog etc will be unlikely to get game time so at least get them out on loan but preferably gone and off the books.
    Still Downing is now ours and think thats a good signing for us.I see us as having a lot of potential and fluidity going forward.Defensively we have always been solid and although I would like to see us sign a dedicated left back we do have lots of cover there in aurelio.Johnson,Robinson and Flanagan so its not imperitive.We are covered at centre back with Carra,Agger,Skrtel.Kelly.The greek and right back we have Johnson Kelly and Flanagan.We have at least 2 players in each position now except wingers.Downing hasnt missed a game for 18 months or more but you never knowso maybe a winger/striker would be good.Kuyt can fill the roll but he's not really a winger.
    One thing for sure our bench will look a lot stronger than it has for many years.
