Thought I would start a separate thread for one of the biggest sprints of the season.

Two seasons ago I predicted Hoof It would be our top sprinter for the following season. Well I got got that wrong. Can't see him winning again off top weight, even though carrying 2lb less than when winning here 2 years ago. Nothing would please me more than to have got this wrong but it does seem a very stiff task and it would be a major training feat if he does pull it off.

Tropics has come on leaps and bounds and is a strong fancy. However, given he got first run on Rex Imperator at Windsor and finished just 1l in front, and is now 9lb worse off, should Rex Imperator really be twice the odds at 18/1? However, if Rex Imperator is in with a chance then so must York Glory who beat him 5l in the Wokingham and is only 3lbs worse off.

Can't see why the money has come for Ninjago, other that Richard Hughes is riding. I would have thought he was held by Heaven's Guest.

I'm sure someone will tip up the winner and it's unlikely to be me. Can't pick one so I would have to have 1 point on each of the ones I have highlighted and hope that gives me a run for my "money".

Always get suckered in to these sprint races...they are always a bit of a lottery with so many runners and hard luck stories too...I guess i love trying to solving the puzzle. I like Louis the Pious in this... each way 16/1 5 places. And Burwaaz each way 28/1 5 places. Bets placed - come on you beauties! Ha

I'm hoping the winner comes from one of these:

Shropshire 12/1
Hoof It 14/1
Hawkeyethenoo 14/1
Rex Imperator 14/1[

Decided to only back the one and gone for Hawkeyethenoo

Will not be touching the race with a barge pole, but I have to point out Heaven’s Guest who touched off Moviesta at Newmarket. I was on Moviesta that day and it won over a shorter trip yesterday. Richard Fahey’s charge will probably run stone last now that I have mentioned it...

5 selections and only one in the first 3 but that's the one that mattered. Nice 14 points profit
