You may have picked up the debate about over the top policing at football matches, tied in with jobsworth stewards. What are your experiences?
Had been told that Everton were very strong on the seating policy, but saw no evidence of that. Police always seem good in Liverpool and Manchester as do stewards. This does not include Gtr Manc teams - Bolton are my benchmark for truly horrible stewards. Generally found Midlands generally good, but positively loath the stewards at Wolves. In London, find Chelsea a bit officious.
As for whether it is better or worse than, say, pre-Hillsborough it is difficult to judge because as I age I presumably become less of a target.
