Cheers for link notso, I must say I'm surprised that Stevie played a significant amount of games as a CB, as I would have thought his height would have precluded that. But hey, if that's what his profile says and HD remembers then I certainly won't argue :)

I primarily recall SP as a mid and RB, but certainly his versatile qualities meant that even as a RB he pushed forward to help the attack, I remember some great link up play with him and Hodd. I can easily imagine him as a sweeper, but can't remeber specific games for us when he played that role, but I'm no 'memory man' so I'm sure it happened.

I'd be interested to hear of specific games where Steve played CB or sweeper, just to jog my memory.

Time to call for THFC6061 - my memory of specific games is not to be relied on!

    :) Harry.

Yep 6061 will surely help, though remeber you can't necessarily tell from team sheets who played where, so you do need to remember specific games. Cup finals are pretty easy if you watched them, but in general it gets difficult for specifics like this for a 'utility' player like Stevie. Same with Mabbs.

I will almost guarantee that SP played RB v Wolves when we beat them 6-1, as in my mind anyway I still see him linking up so well with Hodd on that side. However, if you asked me to bet a lot of money on it, I'd decline except at very generous odds :)
