Feeling fit at 37 means getting up with no aches and pains and been able to put socks on whilst standing up! Not sure what he means by fitter than ever! Let's jsut hope he stay's fit and isn;t overused. Afterall, we have been doing pretty well without him!

The fact remains that in interviews a positive spin can be put on things so i agreed with you that he was not match fit. clearly he's not anywhere near that, however i think its quite reasonable to mix a knowledge of his history in with an interpreation of the article as a whole (not just one sentance) and come up with a conclusion that gerrard was referring to feeling free of pain, quite good in himself etc. I'll leave it up to others to draw thier own comclusions wum wise, theres a freindly banter section for fans to banter........ perhaps i'm merely taking the opportunity to wum you, you never know....
Could he be talking specifically about his groin? He may feel that his injury woes could be over but he certainly isn't match fit.
Surely "fitter than ever" is a turn of phrase to convey a positive frame of mind about his prospects for the near future? Imo everybody is trying to read too much into this. He's had injury problems, now he feels he's getting over them- what else should he say?
I could do an equally long winded respose to this, particularly in regards to the literal meaning. However we we go round and round in circles and I get the feeling were already boring others to death so I will drop it. I still rekon Liverpool are **** though ( parting wum shot )
