Ghoddle foams at the mouth at any suggestion of playing anyone but the First XI.

Come to think of it, he's been pretty quiet since Harry got the boot. Coinkidink?

To be fair, I've selected majority first teamers that are realistically available.

Modric - Unsettled, not back in training after Euro's.
VDV, Parker, Defoe - Not back in training after Euro's.
Bale, Kaboul and Walker - Injuries or only just back from them.

The only two he could've had a problem with is leaving out Benny and Friedel.

Yeah Caulker & Rose(Both GB), Giovani dos Santos(Mexico) & Sandro(Brazil) are all in Olympics squads so they won't play.

Kane has just returned from the England U19 so he may not be available.

In addition to the players you've already mentioned - Friedel, BAE, Bassong, Kaboul, Dawson, Falque, Luongo, Jenas, Carroll, Livermore & Fredericks will probably all play some part (expect to see possibly completely different teams in each half).

Ahhhh forgot about Sandro too, change my preferred line up to:

    ------------Gomes--------------
    Smith--Daws---Vert----Naughton
    -------Livermore--Hudd---------
    --Lennon-----Sig-----Townsend--
    -----------Coulibaly-------------

I'd just like to clear up before anyone says anything that I'm not advocating Gomes being our number 1, but it's been so long since he played that it'll be interesting to see how he'd do in a low risk game.

Also offers fans who have shelled out for the game the opprotunity to see the two new lads.

Got a feeling we might see David Button get a run out this evening, even if it's only for 45 minutes.

I thought it was more likely that the likes of Gomes and Button would be involved rather than Brad tonight, is that fair to say? Haven't seen much of Button is he a keeper with a future at the club?

Button has 109 career appearances, none of them for us.

Does anyone with an insight know if Button or any of our young keepers will ever make a breakthrough? Any keeper in our youth we haven't really heard of, but has a bit of potential perhaps?

Jonathan Miles IMHO looks a very good prospect.
Spurcat will give you his views on the boy.

Jordan Archer is Scottish and, as everyone knows, Spurs win when there's a Scot in the squad...

Yep, we won a trophy against one of the most expensively assembled teams of all time with Chimbonda playing at left-back.

Think about our successes - we've had a Scottish influence in all of them:
    2008 - Hutton played
    1999 - Graham managed
    1991 - A player named Edinburgh
    1981/2/4 - Archibald
    1972 - Gilzean
    1961/2 - Mackay, Brown, White
    1921 - Hunter, McDonald
1901 - Tait, Erentz, Cameron, Brown, Copeland

Team is in: Cudicini; Walker, Dawson, Kaboul, Naughton; Jenas, Livermore; Bentley, Lennon, Pienaar; Kane

No new signings on show unfortunately, looks like a 4231 as well. Wish I could watch it :(
