Our players might be considered to be good enough to beat Stevenage, but they have litle experience of playing with each other. A real banana skin.
I dont think its disrespectful to use this competition to give youth a chance. I dont think Nige would put out a side that he didnt think could win this game. Dont count our lads off yet
Maybe if we bought better players on the summer who had time to get used to each other then this would nit be happening ? Seems a bit like a sticky plaster job to me .
Putting out a strong cup team or staying up. Hmm let me think a min before I decide what one I'd prefer.
Is there a less threatening sentence in the English language than "Danny Butterfield unleashes a 30 yard drive with his left boot"?
You can play who you like out of your squad. Anyway, Nigel has always rotated his players for cup games.
I think the 'strongest team' rule only applies to the Premiership but I may be mistaken. No, on researching for 10 seconds apparently that rule was changed AGES AGO anyway - I didn't know that! Apologies! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/14166038
If they are playing this sqaud, why not play on Thursday and give Stevenage a payday with the TV? It would reflect badly on the team though- people would think our team is ****
I've just looked it up, yes it's the PL rule which has now been relaxed. Got my competitions mixed up. I may as well STFU now.
Actually Fran; I am not convinced they are not used to playing together; Butterfield, Richardson, Seaborne, Hammond, Chaplow have played together alot, Puncheon and Sharp played with most of these guys end of last season and with WP in the preseason games with most of the others. Only Lee, Gazza and Shaw don't have much experience together. I actually think the problem is the 4-3-3 that is causing problems for them...
