So close again. Morris cross from the by-line on the left and Healey climbed to send a downwards header goalwards which Hegyi pushed away.

Kone released Andrews on the right. He steadied himself and picked out Morris on the edge of the box, but his half volley cleared the bar.

Watford had the better of the second half and would be back in the dressing room celebrating now but for two exceptional saves from keeper Hegyi. Penalties it is though.

Oh dear - not going to get much if you miss 2 penalties out of 5.

Sounds like we started well and finished ok but was generally lacklustre.

Annoyingly, Stevenage never even had an attempt at goal in the second half.

    Typical!

    They probably played for penalties.

We’ll have to see what the team reaction is like .

    One great result
    One poor one

Might be that sort of season.

As I say sounded like we played well for 20 minutes and the 2nd half was mainly ours but we got sloppy at 1-0 and it cost us a goal.

So better than our usual exits of being totally hopeless and hardly being a threat.

Suspect Steven Evans had them right up for it in our faces and you can be sure he wouldn't have let Stevenage fall apart like QPR did.

A loss yes, but good to have 100+ minutes in the tank to bed in the tactics/formation and also learn more about your players. The biggest lesson learned is Hamer doesn't suit the coaches style. He is not good at passing out from the back and everything must stem from that. I think we may have a new keeper inbound before the end of the window because of this.

Although VI must like Hamer as he is one of the vice captains .

Bachmann almost got caught out too on Saturday so guess it’s the risk these teams want to take.

Looking at the pen takers again, still can't believe the first 3 to step up were defenders!

Bayo wasn't even one of the takers! WFT??????

If the numbers had been the same then we avoided a long trip in mid week to Devon!
