Football for a fiver returns a with it brings fans Charlton didn't even know they had down to the valley for what will be a tricky encouter with the surprise package of the season so far Stevenage. Charltons last outing saw them draw 1-1 with relegation battling Rochdale, while Stevenage lost 1-0 on wednesday night to Notts County conceding in the 90th minute.
When the two sides met earlier in the season at the Lamex Stadium Stevenage inflicted Charltons first league defeat of the season running out 1-0 winners after Stacy Longs 12th minute shot to a wicked deflection to loop over the stranded keeper Ben Hamer. This game I also seem to remember that Chris Powell changed the defence around by putting Morrison in at right back even though there was nothing wrong with Solly.
Stevenage have had a terrific season so far and currently occupy the last playoff place with 48 points from 29 games. I believed that the departure of manager Graham Westley to Preston would see them start to slip down the table but they have proved me wrong and have a great chance of making it 3 success promotions on the spin. They have been quite prolific on their travels so far this season smashing 6 past Colchester and 5 past Rochdale.
Charlton's Home Record - W9 D6 L0 GF31 GA11 PTS 33
Stevenage's Away Record - W7 D5 L4 GF23 GA12 PTS 26
There is only one previous competitive meeting between the two sides and this was the game played earlier in the season which shows how far Stevenage have come or how far we have fallen depending on how you want to look at it.

This could be an extremely difficult fixture for us and if we don't up our game I could see us getting a right hiding. If we play like we did on Tuesday it will only be a matter of time before the huge crowd makes its frustrations known. This would be massively damaging to our team in my opinion as know way in hell do they deserve to be booed and jeered off the pitch the way they've performed this season! However if the big crowd do get behind the boys well how many of the Stevenage players have played infront on 25,000plus crowds a few are bound to get nervous (I hope)
Anyway im gonna say 1-1 for this one and start to nervously look over my shoulder at Sheff United
