<laugh> yeah, i wasn't having a go, just curious as to why. its hardly a stellar signing but i don't think we can complain about saving a few million on a player. if it doesn't work out it doesn't work out - that's the risk you take with every single player you sign.

You do realise signing a bosman is far from free as you put it?

No doubt it saves a few quid but nowhere near the 3 or so million price tag you are estimating.

Free transfers usually leave the player free to negotiate with more clubs meaning they can attract much higher signing on fees..and ofcourse ridiculous agent fees.

err, yeah, i do know. nobody is stupid enough to think that! had we signed him for £3m, it would likely cost us more like £5m. as it is, we've still saved ourselves the transfer fee - that's good business - you get nothing for free! its not rocket science...

What's with your attitude recently supers? Always putting down others opinions and dismissing any knowledge they share which others may not know whilst sitting there yourself with "insiders" knowledge and predictions which are incorrect more often than not.

no attitude, and to be fair, you made a daft point - it was a natural reaction. if the boot had been on the other foot you'd probably have had the same thought as me... 'seriously? you think i don't know that?'

not really sure what you're banging on about with regards the insider knowledge to be honest. i have worked at the club so know a few people there but most are outside our club and its very rare i post anything to do with what i hear.

Its the way you put your point across sometimes supers. That reply to Irdan is prime example. Irdan made a valid point.

fair enough, maybe i overstepped the mark. i've always been of the opinion that the norwich crew on here and 606 before it had a level of intelligence which was quite high in football fan circles, one for example which understands that a 'free transfer' isn't a free transfer. therefore, by saying a free transfer is a good deal, people would realise that i don't mean we get him for nothing. maybe i'm wrong...

I agree, most people probably do know. But it was in my eyes just a reminder and his signing on fee could have been more than normal if there was competition for his signature.

Plus if someone didn't know doesn't make them less of a Norwich fan, and Norwich fans are welcome on the board. More the merrier.

No worries mate, I don't have a problem with you at all and value your posts on here, it's just sometimes you can come across as a bit condascending and patronising with your output which can be irritating and sometimes make you sound a bit of an arse - which I am 100% certain you aren't, I'd be more than happy to share a few beers with you and chew the fat for a few hours so please don't take it as a personaly sleight <ok>

I only refer to a small percentage of your posts, but the fact you post so bloody many of them no doubt some of them will come across that way and just lately I have noticed you getting perhaps a bit more self-righteous than usual as Irdan also mentioned.

I dunno, maybe it's just me, maybe it's just the time of year <ok>

<cheers> i think i get annoyed at this time of year myself. people will believe anything they hear, 99% of which is total bollocks and quite obviously bollocks, yet they still believe it! i think its cos people are bored without their football fix and so feel the need to find something to talk about which nullifies that boredom. i can never quite get my head round that... i don't repsond well to it sometimes! <laugh>

when you consider you are in europe every season though, four finals isn't quite as remarkable as it sounds, especially when you consider the only one you won was the now defunct cup winners cup which even the likes of west ham have won before.

All good here supers..let's move on.

R Johnson? Could be a good signing if it's the guy from Brum and not Wolves..I'd trust CH judgement so would have no problems if we signed him and actually think he's a quality centre half with good experience.

I am with you on that, if it's the Roger Johnson from Birmingham, sign him up!

If it's the Roger Johnson from Wolves, forget it!

It's a difficult one, which could either go really well, or go horribly
