Taylor's a much better player than he's given credit for, most of Newcastle's defensive failings over recent years stem from appalling midfield covering and a series of poor fullbacks. He has been injury prone and that is a worry, but if we signed him now we would be getting the best 4 years of his career. Him and Davies would be solid as. If Bruce pulls this off I'll be well impressed. The Meh attitude of some on here when we announced the Davies signing is possibly being repeated I feel.
Not saying Curtis is bad in any way. I've always rated him. How you managed to turn this into an attack on one of your players is beyond me. Seems to be the Hull thing though. Do I have to say Curtis Davis is the best centre back in the world to make you happy? They'd be a solid as **** paring.
You said he's better than what we have, looking back on it you might mean the second of the pair which I probably disagree with as well to be honest. Chester needs to get used to the league and not commit to touching the air near the fairies like Nasri and Torres as this has costed us at least two goals from free kicks but he is technically superb. Not many centre halfs better with a ball at their feet, especially English ones, and his reading of the game/positioning are fantastic.
His trophy cabinet at Sunderland? It's a cabinet full of red cards. Emlyn Hughes & Billy Bremner both played for us, way past their best but they had lots of trophies.
Injuries have been a nightmare up till this season but he's only had 4 bans in his entire 12 year career.
Then why is it relevant, he's past his best, his best years are behind him, he'll be plying his trade in the Championship next season. It happens to many players, they make their name, see some success & move on to a lesser club when they can no longer cut it at a superior club. Get over it, like I said earlier Taylor (imo) isn't up to the level we aspire to, but he could do a job for you lot.

You clearly haven't seen much of him this season. He's the reason were in with shot of staying up. He incredibly consistent and bring the best out who ever he plays with. All he's lost from his united days is his pace and if anything his wiser head has improved his reading of the game massively. I don't know why you have turn everything into we're better than you.
