i've figured it out.. yeast... you said there were one or two others just not that one... you means it's all clear for the bottom feeder (isn't that what all hamerheads are?)

if gerrard has gone to warmers climes to recover i reckon its dry air and heat, to kill the yeast infection... its up to you guys to fgiure out how that got form the tip of... to an ankle...

I think we're looking at two injuries rather than one. The sprain could potentially lead to a minor bleed into the joint (bruising). If there was bacteria floating around in the blood, than we could well see that being deposited into the joint. That could come from any break in the skin.

The joint itself is a blood-poor environment generally, so the bacteria would proliferate there. Fairly low levels of oxygen encourage anaerobic bacterial growth, and the lack of blood supply would make white blood cells transport to the location more difficult, hence an infection which doesn't clear easily.

    It's not sinister <ok>

I'm a former forensics specialist - with a sideline in pathology and medical science. But I'll leave the physics to you, naturally ;)

It's a deal, although my degree is in molecular biology and I recruit at main board level in the life science sector. Well done for typing 'The Hammerhead' correctly. Let that be a lesson to MITO <ok>
