If what I heard on 5 live the other night is true, a significant part of the SPL could be joining them before the end of next season...
Definitely. Interesting that both Davis and Lafferty did not play for their new clubs. Although Nigel said he "had a knock" I wonder if this was the case. Who knows but it seems to be coming to a close soon.
If, in whatever unlikely circumstance, this drags on past the start of the season I fully expect FIFA to grant temporary clearance until it has fully resolved, anyway.
I think we'd have got away with playing Davis as the ML cup isn't even a FIFA sanctioned event because of the unusual format (we're not allowed to use professional referees for the same reason), and probably any friendly we'd be ok, but in a competitive game we'd have got into trouble as he's not registered to us yet. Would be like the Faurlin thing that nearly cost QPR their promotion.
Probably hoping to get it sorted quickly anyway, but, as said above, a temporary permission could be given if it drags on. Personally, I think the administrators are at fault and have sold something they had no right to. Misrepresentation it's called.
Not so, the SFA are the ones who have to give international clearance, and for some reason (presumably afraid of being sued by Charles Green) they are refusing to do so.
I think the SFA cannot release clearance until they have Rangers permission. It then gets very murky because Rangers doesn't exist does it? Does the newco have the right of veto? SFA want this clarified in law...can't say I blame them, they can't be so rich that they want to be sued.
My mind is perfectly at rest. Rangers won't win this case as they have nothing to fight with. Not a leg to stand on. Panic not.
FIFA approve transfer of Jamie Ness, formerly of Rangers, to Stoke: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18934111?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter This'll be sorted for us soon too, I would imagine. He'll be granted a temporary licence and then FIFA can sort it all out without disadvantaging new clubs.

Despite the headline...the body of the piece suggests that Davis is still awaiting clearance (though it is expected). Perhaps we didn't employ the woman who represented the others. It is temporary clearance, so some compensation may yet be due when fully investigated. Doesn't sound like Rangers are legally due any but they may get some if teams decide that they just want it to go away. What are Rangers going to be called? Some teams abroad have added the date, so will they be Rangers 2012?
