By the way, someone mentioned Brooker earlier - does anyone know what happened to him? I lost track of him after he went to Donny.
Fantastic natural striker with an instinct for goal. It's a shame he had such difficulty staying fit.

' Stephen Michael Lord "Steve" Brooker (born 21 May 1981) is an English football striker who plays for Northern Premier League Premier Division side Buxton.

He began his career with Watford in 1999, before moving on to Port Vale in 2001, following a short loan spell. With Vale he won the Football League Trophy in 2001. He transferred to Bristol City in 2004, where he would spend the next five years. In 2008 he spent time on loan at both Cheltenham Town and Doncaster Rovers, before he joined Doncaster permanently in 2009. He spent two years with the club before he was released due to injury concerns. He signed with Buxton in October 2012. ' <ok>

Never knew he was a lord....

    Cheers Wiz.
For me SB was the wizard that never was. Sad.

Davies looks VERY good though - funny that Derby didn't try to keep him.

Its our defence and defensive midfield that needs surgery.
Our attack and attacking midfield game is up there with the best in the division, but you cant win games when you are continually giving teams a goal start and losing goals in the final 10 minutes

Do you reckon that Davies could drop back to midfield to cover for our midfield issues. I'm sure he'd be willing to if it meant playing every game, and from what I've seen of him I think he'd be able to do it fairly well.

I have maintained now for a while Davies has it all to be an attacking midfielder, great vision, scores goals, tackles well, finds space, good in the air, and most importantly has a footballing brain.
But unfortunetely someone stated that when he signed it was his desire to play up front as he did not like Derby playing him left midfield :(

But what about central attacking midfield behind Baldock and Stead/Taylor? So long as we've plugged up the defence good and proper!

My thoughts exactly. I think he'd do wonders for the midfield if he plays a similar role to what Rooney has done for Man Utd recently. The guy seems to be everywhere so I reckon he'd be happy to do it in the short term in order to get himself in the team every week.

I'm pretty sure the reason he came here was the opportunity to play as a striker and not plugging midfield..

Also some players just seem to flourish at some clubs and not others. Having seen Danny Haynes play so well for Charlton recently, their supporters may ask why we let him go.
