That's exactly it, I'd say it's pretty much entirely the manager. But of the players we've bought and are not playing, arguably Engvall and Moore are justifiable in not playing just yet.
I find it somewhat difficult to accept that Lee has spent so much of the money on our supposed future and I hate to break it to him but without a present the future doesn't exist. It was my belief that he was brought in to handle the here and now and yet he seems to have wandered off on a path of his own mind boggling imagination and I wonder if all this was the brainchild of SL? Whatever our opinion is we must confess we have the worst manager in Bristol City's history, along with some other worst records, and it looks like nobody is getting the message that the supporters have all but given up on the present and the future.
I think the problem is not the players bought for future, people are focusing on them because they've been loaned out and not playing etc but I believe that if the players bought for here and now had performed nobody would even have noticed these youngsters. I'm talking the like of yours Tomlins, Matthews, Golbournes, O'Neils and even the short term signing of Ekstrand. These players should be Championship ready but have not performed, they are the problem not the ones bought for the future.
So the age old question is why? Are they just lazy, or is poor coaching at fault, or even worse were they just poor quality players signed by Lee? A season of questions, mainly unanswered, and my fear is that we will continue this way without a blink from the top.
