Visted Eastville a couple times back in the day. When I lived in your fair city I played at the Memorial ground when it was a rugby stadium (against their 2nd team). I also remember walking under the wooden terracing of the Grange end at Ninian Park to get to the Bob Bank. Happy days.
I only realised how old I was a few weeks ago when I saw Sting (Gordon Sumner) who I remember as a teenager singing Roxanne was 70 last year.
no... They all get the same, but the comment "money used for contractual payments" is such that a team coming down with a wage bill of less than £40m will make a profit on that assumption... a team paying wages of more than £40m will almost be on par. wages is just not players! ... + managers assistants/coach's back room staff etc
I had a mortgage and 2 kids then Wiz middle pic brought a flood of memories entered there many many many times
please log in to view this image Taken approx 1930, east end has got an adv on the roof saying, " Evening World " and you can just make out the Welsh coast, no bridge in them days of course..
the evening world used to be the main Bristol paper.. in the 50's used to go to the paper shop to collect 4 copies in the early 50's I think it was about 6pm.. the vehicle delivering them used to pass close to our house and stopped that! as someone in our block took on an evening paper round, van would stop he would take 20 papers or so, rest went to shop My grandparents house was halfway between the 2 used to get pocket money maybe totalling 3d a week for the 4 1d from each of 3 lot of money in them days .............
I'm not the oldest on here but I simply don't care, I am enjoying my life to the full and have done for years.
