He hasn't really produced anything that has convinced me otherwise this season. Work rate isn't everything, which is pretty obvious, he doesn't seem to make many killer runs that cut defenders up. Maybe it's the target man role that he has had to adopt which isn't the role a player of his stature should be playing at this level as he gets muscled off the ball far to easily or over complicates the play with too many touches.
As is Dean Windass but you still love him. Thats my point, he dug into his own pocket when we were into administration. He is a fans favourite A true legend and a gentleman. I don't care if you don't like him but if we sign him it'll be like christmas come early for me
Not sure Howard is mobile enough? Windass could work areas effectively only using energy when there was a better than not chance of scoring or setting a goal up. Does Howard have that in his locker? Just being a 'big man' isn't enough in this league, you need a bit of craft and guile.
At Villa he is on about 40k so i reckon we will offer around 25-30k. With this being his hometown club i reckon he would drop his wage demands a little
