I think we're all overreacting to be honest. Harps is a good keeper, but was never as good as Given and now isn't as good as Krul. He's gone on loan short term for some first team football then has a decision to make as to what he wants to do, sit around the squad as backup until getting a coaching role or move to finish his career actually playing games. I don't think what the clubs done is bad at all, and I don't buy the 'old guard' argument, if anything they're helping him out by letting him move.

**** me I worry about fans now. I think I'll say very little on certain posts because I'm unlikely to be pleasant. Needless to say I think some should take a long hard look at themselves, and ask what being a supporter is.

Steve Harper has been an extremely loyal servant, to his own detriment. At his peak he was every inch a top class PL goalkeeper. He was good enough for England. He was very unfortunate to run into Given, but I respect him for not kicking up a a fuss when he made it clear to Bobby it may be time to move on. Bobby did what was best for the club and retained him. Now he has Krul who in my opinion will end up as one of the worlds best like Given, but even better. Its tough but I don't think the club will want to retain him. They've committed to Krul and now Harper is a financial burden. Obviously I don't think he should be viewed like that because of his loyalty, but if he also wants to leave we should get him the best move we can and treat him respectfully. He is still a very very good goalkeeper. Certainly still good enough to be first choice in the PL. I watched them raving about Hennessey at Wolves the other day. He's ****e and drops a clanger every week. You're lucky if Harper drops one a season.
