For a start I did not, or claim to have scoured Europe. If i did then my list of names would be far more interesting. And I did write article with a list in order from the names banded around. http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/263467-The-next-manager
Touch a nerve did I hillbilly? Shall we wait until the season gets under way before we start talking about how unprofessional clubs are being? You lot seem very, very confident that you for some reason are going to be a stronger force this season, on the basis of sod all as far as I can see. Oh, I just can't wait to see the egg all over your ugly, ugly faces after we turn you over and finish above you in the table again. It is going to be beautiful
No nerve hit with me.....you have to have a degree of respect for someone to be bothered by what they say... .....does it make you feel big using the derogatory and what some call racial slur 'hillbilly'.....very immature.
I remember this clown, he worked with the likes of Worthington, Hamilton and Rioch, just reading the Pinkun article about him fills me with rage. If they sell off the squad and replace it with youth team players and we don't see a good run of games by September then we should call for their heads, I hope the fans use their anger properly this is another in a long line of broken promises and the board are not only cheeps their a bunch of liars.
ok, first of all i'm absolutely delighted to hear foley will not be involved at norwich city so binners, the jokes on you - you've still got him. just wanted to post a theory (and it is a theory, no evidence for this - and apologies if this has already been mooted) about why we've ended up with adams and i think its logical. if we assume (correctly i'm sure, depsite the boards protestations) that malky mackay was in fact the first choice all along and not neil adams, i believe there was a hold up because malky wanted his own man as technical director - ian moody. this would lead to a delay while the board talked to his current club palace in order to try to convince moody to join. it would explain the hold up and it would also explain why, if we could not secure his services, that malky turned down the opportunity. i do know malky would think very hard about coming back here - he does love the club and has a wife from nearby and they still have a house around here too i believe - it could be that whoever the club have decided to sign as this 'tech man' prevented any possible deal. maybe he didn't wish to work alongside adams. i don't know - just putting it out there because i think we all saw straight through bowkett's comments about how adams was 'first choice'. he clearly wasn't.
There you go hillbilly, there's your answer. I mean, if anyone knows bigotry when he sees it it's JWM
"Hughton out. Neil Adams in (he can't do any worse than Hughton afterall). I'd rather be relegated and playing in the Championship and watching attacking football than this outer dross" - Norwich city fans ~November 2013-~March 2014 Well most of you got what you wanted.
Hardly fair given Hughton managed to lose/not win our supposedly "winnable" matches. It was Hughton and players fault for not beating Hull, Cardiff, Villa etc. You can't blame Adams for picking up a basically burnt out relegated team against the top of the Prem when they pretty much all had something to still fight for. Not overly thrilled by permanent appointment but I'll back him now.
Totally agree with this Supers. Exactly what happened so I am led to believe. I like the quote saying if players leave we can get in better, oh really?? We are playing in the Championship now Mr Bowkett. It ain't gonna happen.
Thinking about this again, I'm not entirely sure he wasn't their first choice. The way that interview went sort of suggested "Well if we'd just given Adams the job at the end of the season, the fan's would have got mad at us. So we did the most perfunctory search we could get away with, scared off a couple of genuine candidates with some BS demands, and then conveniently Adams was the only one left. Oh well." And their "scouring Europe" appears to have been limited to Spain, Germany and Italy. Because of course no quality managers have ever come from anywhere else.
I think you've hit the nail on the head with that one, DH, and the biggest disappointment is that the board treat us all as too thick to figure that out for ourselves despite their protestations otherwise
