The board trusted Neil Adams so much that they won't let him pick his own assistant. He must of really made an impression on them.
And who, exactly, apart from an untrue story in a poxy Ipswich rag, has told you that Adams can't pick his own backroom staff?
He has had one decision to make and that was over-ruled I'm starting to think you might be looking for a new manager before the World Cup starts....
“I’m devastated and embarrassed for myself and Neil,” he told The Sun. “I couldn’t believe this was happening, especially that they would undermine Neil on his first day.”
If we really are a big club, do you not think managers would be falling over each other to get here? Think our board need to reflect on this. I think Malkay and others turned us down personally. Yes we really are an attractive proposition these days.
Oh the Sun - the gospel of all honour and truth. Personally I don't trust that Murdoch toilet roll to even tell the truth about the date at the top of the page. Come on Carrabuh - you are an intelligent man - do you really believe that Adams wanted to appoint the part time Coach of Needham Market to be his top Coach?
I don't see any reason for a story like this to develop. The Sun has far more interesting (not literally interesting obviously) stories to make up. In addition, given what has happened over the last couple of days it sounds wholly believable.
Worlds worst come back........when someone points out the total unprofessional behaviour of your football club.....it's always a great aguement to try to make fun of their music taste.......you Munky seem to be Norwich City in human form....an absolute joke that keeps making themselves look silly.............yeehaw.
But there is a shortage of talent out there. Most appointments made last year failed, WBA can't find a decent Manager, Allerdyce is only still at West Ham because he has no competition and the same with others such as Pardew at Newcastle. If we had a short list and the first choices turned us down what could the Board do? Start again - but who was available last week who wasn't available the week before? Wait a month and see what happens - there would have been riots on the streets of Norwich. Ignore the claims of Adams - then why have him on the short list? You may not like the appointment but in those circumstances the Board had no other option.
And there is no hidden agenda in Foley approaching the Sun? Strange that the only 2 sources for this appear to be a rag where Foley lives and the Sun who Foley presumably approached.
On another thread I am told that another binners source says that Joe Royle is coming back as Director of Football - even though we are not going to have one. Why do the City fans keep falling for it? Why would these sources know more about what is going on at Carrow Road than our own local press? Mischief making perhaps? Perk up their own supporters perhaps - it has certainly worked on this site!!
The board had plenty of options, there are plenty of managers with plenty of credentials. They made it clear there were only a few by announcing such a small amount of time to pick one. Neil Adams, in my opinion does not even warrant being on the shortlist. It is absolute tosh that there are no decent managers around, there are, we just didn't bother looking, far to caught up developing a new structure. The whole thing absolutely reeks of Peter Grant, Bryan Gunn, Bryan Hamilton. A lazy and closed mind approach
You might be right, in the sense that they felt they had no other choice. No one knows the facts, but lets assume the first choices turned us down, the question is why and my feeling is that they didn't put together the right package- people can be swayed
Why would Foley approach the Sun? Its not strange at all, would you expect the Liverpool Echo to be reporting it.
I have another theory! Maybe, just maybe all these "better" managers saw how our "fans" behaved last season and thought, "**** that for a game of soldiers!"
