If only I had a pound for every time I said that about Steve Brooker.
Here are some extracts from the profile of our new signing in BEP.
"In October that year (2007) Davies was sidelined after sustaining a knee injury during a match against Northampton Town. He was forced to undergo surgery after scans confirmed he had cruciate knee ligament damage....The player did not return to the pitch until April 2008.........In March 2009, just as he was starting to enjoy regular first-team football, Davies was ruled out for the rest of the season with a broken foot........The 21-year-old suffered a hairline fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot, and had to undergo an operation......Davies was again plagued by injury in 2010, spending time on the sidelines with an ankle problem in addition to a hamstring injury. He was restricted to just seven starts in the Championship for Derby that term, and had to undergo surgery on his ankle in April.....In July 2010 Davies suffered yet another injury woe, being ruled out for six months after damaging cruciate knee ligaments in training.....in October 2011 Daviesâ career was almost ended when he sustained a head injury during County's top-of-the-table Championship match against Southampton. It was thought the 23-year-old had suffered a routine depressed fracture of his skull. But the injury was far worse, and he needed a five-hour operation to repair the damage. The surgeon rebuilt Davies' smashed skull by inserting 10 metal plates held together by 22 screws."
Welcome to.........the new Steve Brooker. A player everyone knows has talent but can't stay fit for more than 2 minutes. With our luck recently with loaned in strikers he may not make it to the end of the Palace game (assuming he is OK through the whole of the warm up).
The club physio must have been looking forward to an easy season when Ribiero left but is now likely to be busier than ever.....
