I still think getting rid of Ribeiro was a huge mistake on our part because the guy has flashes of absolute brilliance between trips to the medics. If we could have stabilised him a bit and kept him with us as a sub I think he'd get over his injury issues.

That being said, the more I read about Davies the more excited I get. I'd love to see us play Pitman, Stead and Davies up front today and although I doubt Davies will score until he finds his feet I can definitely see us snatching a win for the first time in a while.

ribs too injury prone could never keep a good run in team
i rather see stead and davies together pitman dont try hard enough

Ribeiro was on 4k a week with us though so when he was on wages like that it's not hard to see why he was let go if he couldn't stay fit..

Here are some extracts from the profile of our new signing in BEP.

"In October that year (2007) Davies was sidelined after sustaining a knee injury during a match against Northampton Town. He was forced to undergo surgery after scans confirmed he had cruciate knee ligament damage....The player did not return to the pitch until April 2008.........In March 2009, just as he was starting to enjoy regular first-team football, Davies was ruled out for the rest of the season with a broken foot........The 21-year-old suffered a hairline fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot, and had to undergo an operation......Davies was again plagued by injury in 2010, spending time on the sidelines with an ankle problem in addition to a hamstring injury. He was restricted to just seven starts in the Championship for Derby that term, and had to undergo surgery on his ankle in April.....In July 2010 Davies suffered yet another injury woe, being ruled out for six months after damaging cruciate knee ligaments in training.....in October 2011 Davies’ career was almost ended when he sustained a head injury during County's top-of-the-table Championship match against Southampton. It was thought the 23-year-old had suffered a routine depressed fracture of his skull. But the injury was far worse, and he needed a five-hour operation to repair the damage. The surgeon rebuilt Davies' smashed skull by inserting 10 metal plates held together by 22 screws."

Welcome to.........the new Steve Brooker. A player everyone knows has talent but can't stay fit for more than 2 minutes. With our luck recently with loaned in strikers he may not make it to the end of the Palace game (assuming he is OK through the whole of the warm up).

The club physio must have been looking forward to an easy season when Ribiero left but is now likely to be busier than ever.....

bloody hell! write him off already why dont you?!

apparently he drives too - oh ****, he'll probably break down on the way to the ground and miss the game!

and he eats food - what if he chokes on his food before a match?!

and he has a heart - oh no! that means he could have a heart attack!

and what if he doesn't score on his debut?! quick, get rid of him now before its too late!
