Looks like many of us are thinking he might be a good fit to lead our club forward..

Could see this in multiple different threads. So wanted to start a dedicated thread to Steve's chances.

More likely Pep is going to turn us down by the looks of things..

Will he nothing, he wants the 15mil a-year-job and will be extremely happy when Roman's axe falls on him with three years left.

steve clarke is going about his managerial career in a very shrewd way, first walking and now breaking into a steady jog. I think that he will go on to be a top manager and no way is he going to be daft enough to come to chelsea under roman. I reckon he will end up following in fergies foot steps at man u.

not sure he is good enough yet.. he need to show consistency over some seasons first

Its a very sad reality, that Roman who has done much good for us, has now made us the place not to go if you are a star manager! We'll only ever get the ones who are after the money!

I'm just pleased you lot booed Benitez .. Thought it was a nice touch the minutes applause at 16 mins in appreciation for di matteo.. <ok>

As for Steve Clarke, too early days I think.. If he gets the baggies into Europe and does ok next season then maybe.. But he's better off doing a moyes and staying at a solid club who back him for a few years before he takes on a beast like roman and his ridiculous expectations.

And even that doesn't mean anything if you lose 3 games in a row !!!!!!!

Or have the sheer audacity to finish second in the league!

Or a drunken Scottish track bully from Govern......oh you already have one.

Govern?! Could you please inform me where Govern is, my geography is a wee bit rusty. Or is that how the cool kids told you it was spelt? <laugh>

And SAF has two Champions Leagues, so it's only a matter of time before the dump truck full of money arrives. RA has worked his way back to 2005 already, so he only has Mourinho, Ancelotti, Del Bosque and Hitzfeld to go before SAF is top of the list again. At the current pace the truck should arrive before 2015 <ok>

Clarke will need to win a European trophy before RA will even look at him. That seems to be the only qualification needed to manage Chelsea nowadays.

Hows it going then Tourist? You planning and saving for you annual trip and photo op at OT then? You glory hunting muppet.....and liar.

After Steve Clarke? I think Roman should go all the way and see if Equity actually have Coco the Clown on the books, with Stamford the Lion as assistant.

If a newbee like Di Matteo who wins the Champions League and FA Cup straight away gets fired at the first wobble - what chance has Steve Clarke got?

It'll be Redknapp next for you, then.

I'm hoping Clarke will come to us.
