I said this... He tired by 60-70 minutes but until then he was excellent. Think Bruce wanted to save the subs and tried to keep him on as long as possible.
Football isn't just like another business, you don't get chances continuously every year, at least without a billionaire owner you won't. Bruce is known for taking teams up, but he's also known for taking teams back down again.
I think it'd be grossly unfair to drop either Meyler or Jake for Thudd, but if he does, or even if he brings him on as a sub at some point, I hope he instructs him to play further forward as he did on Tuesday, at least that way he has the opportunity to create. It's far too easy, and maybe that's the way he prefers it, for Huddlestone to sit deep and pass the ball around his own half, no if he plays he needs to work hard like the rest if the team obviously have in the last two league games, mand the only way to seemingly get him to do that us to play him higher up the pitch.
He was played in a different position Chazz, he still wasn't what you'd call dynamic but his quality on the ball was more apparent and useful further up the pitch, rather than his usual game of simply passing the ball to his defenders. I totally agree that a manager should support his player, but not ****ing blindly, for 18 months.
It wasn't pure coincidence that partnerships have started appearing all over the pitch since he's been dropped Bob. I would, the same as the next supporter, love Huddlestone to play a leading role, whether or not that's possible in this a quad is open to conjecture.
Not for Thudd, he's been been consistently in **** form for well over a year, either that or Bruce hasn't been using him correctly.
I said he didn't look happy, why is that rubbish? Also you're right about Huddlestones form being temporary!
Even when he was doing well he looked pissed off, probably me just sad enough to look at players faces and body language when they are on and off the ball
I hope it's just because of lack of fitness or a slight niggle not because he's pissed off with Bruces tactics which have been excellent recently
My eyes aren't what they used to be; from my spot in N1 I was satisfied just to be able to make out who it was ripping the full back a new one!
Agree totally, like I said the different role suited him better and you could see he was putting it all in so no question marks about that. If he could get a few decent shots off further up the field it would almost be like having a new attacking midfielder, and more chances for Hayden maybe defensively too
Yes i think we might see 2/3 changes for the Bees game Maybe something alongvthe lines of the Tuesday night game
They were clamouring for him to drop Huddlestone. And for the record I'm a big fan of Meyler, so I've never been in the camp of "Meyler is ****".
