Done the same myself. And come a cropper not checking what predictive text decided to put instead of what I intended.
As I have said in another post. Given the experience we have in certain core positions, to concede a goal in the manner we did when we had undeservedly got back into the game was really really poor. You protect your point away from home, as a point is a decent enough return. We have done this quite a lot over the last few years and I find it staggering that we have failed as a club to learn anything from it.
Bruce's stength is supposed to be the defence, yet he's made questionable decisions there such as getting rid of Harper and keeping Robertson. Going forward we know is a struggle in this team, we saw this painful and pitiful build up play last season, nothing's changed. Sideways and then backwards, and when we briefly get forward everyone knows that the intention is to get it into a crossing position on the flanks, and the crosses aren't often that great anyway.
Jelavic backed out of a number of 50/50's. He looked more concerned with avoiding injury than helping the team today. I can't believe that anyone who was at the game could claim that he gave 100% out there, it was a shameful performance.
As someone said here it's like the half paced performances before the FA Cup final. Bruce just put up with it instead of playing people who wanted to play. If they don't want to play for us don't play them. If he's playing some just to put them in the shop window then that obviously won't work because of how they are playing, and at the same time it just puts us in danger of losing points.
For sure Steve Bruce knows what he is doing and his judgement should be trusted above some of the contributors to this thread.
The sooner this transfer window closes the better, until then we will not know what will be our best team. With Diame and Snograss due to come back, things should more like a team that can compete. One would hope that if either Jelavic or Huddlestone are still with us after the window closes,, then their attitude will improve considerably.
The thing that summed us up yesterday (there are probably many other examples) .....was when at 0-0....Jelavic was in space just outside the penalty area, nobody around him and an easy pass for Huddlestone to make. The only problem was Huddlestone didn't play it to Jelavic but instead decided to play it right to Meyler who in turn kicked it off the the pitch. This to me is highly frustrating, I'm not sure if Bruce was going for the 0-0 but for me, Huddlestone should of played the ball to jelavic and then supported him, I'm not saying we would of scored but it would of showed some urgency and positivity. This is often the case with Huddlestone or Bruce's tactics. I'm not sure which it is, but its f*****g s***e
