The only veg option i can agree with is taking the doner meat off the kebab kempton but a creche would be good. Cant stand kids, put em all somewhere out the way. Foot massages?
The half time entertainment could be better. Let's have magic acts or live sex shows...that kind of thing.
Thank you for your response. I will however tell you the truth about my last interaction with a season ticket holder before the match on Sunday. We were walking our dogs and he asked me if I was looking forward to it(the match).I said I was but not looking forward to the politics. He did not know what I was talking about. He said he cannot stand the forums or the Hull Daily Mail so did not know about the fuss.I explained the fact that people were protesting about the loss of heritage. At this he became animated and asked who are these people and where were they when we were in division 4-cos he was there and there were not many people around.I did make the point that so was I there also.We agreed that we are not too fussed if the name is changed. He goes with 3 generations as a reasonably large group and he said none of them seem to be bothered. I had a similar reaction talking to another supporter on Monday morning-again he goes with a group of people. These honestly happened(I have also spoken to people who are very anti name change) I think neutrals who were there in Div 4 are understandably annoyed when the anti name changers seem to assume only they "saved " the club. A lot of people do not see the name change as a big deal and they are entitled to their opinions without the insinuation they are lesser supporters-especially when they have been through the dark days. I have been completely misquoted on here which considering I am trying to go against the 606 tide is pretty feeble. I have attacked people personally to try and balance some of the stuff originally aimed at AA(which was a distortion of what he meant) I hope this can be sorted without power bases being established which may lead to no more matches against Liverpool in the rest of my life time. If anyone thinks matches against mid table teams in div 4 in front of 3,000 was like Sunday was really is confused. This was our finest match. It was not a fluke .We "did" a team worth 200-250 million
I thought that you lot were serious in your desire to keep the name, it seems not. Cheap jokes. You are a bunch of ****s. He has spent more time in the last few days than anyone fighting your corner as supporters and what do you do, you take the piss. I actually think that this thread is worse that anything Assem Allam has said.
CTWD have never put across the opinion that it is only the group that helped the club through hard times, they are talking about ALL the supporters that were around at that time whether supporting the name change or not. A distortion of what Allam meant. There were a minority of people who thought he meant common as in "common as muck" about the city name but credit the rest of us with some intelligence. The majority of people knew exactly what he meant - that City was common as in lots of clubs called City. Who says we will not be playing Liverpool again. It isn't as if we keep the name as Hull City it means we are doomed. You are basing that assumption on the fact that Allam could pull out, sell up, run away or whatever. Sensible people who do not think he is god realise its just a bit of blackmail on his side. As far as "they can die when they want". The journo that did that interview has said today that he still has the recordings and he was not misquoting. Burns even spoke to Allam the morning of the match and Allam stands by what he says. Note there has been no apology from him and no attempt at trying to get himself out of a tight spot by stating himself that he was misquoted. When the whole of the football world are asking why he is digging himself a big hole like this and not one influential person be it journalist, commentator, footballer or other supporter has come out in favour of us changing our name you continue to bury your head in the sand. You say time and time again your not bothered. Fine just leave it to those of us who are. Of course I realise I am banging my head against a brick wall because you are so entrenched in your own view that Allam can do no wrong because he has money and he saved the club.
A well articulated summary Jules. Even though your last paragraph is correct, it is still our duty to still try and convince this minority, no matter how blinkered and pig ignorant they may appear. Save them from themselves. Save them from future humiliation* Remember, ignorance is not an opinion. * See Happy Tiger’s repeated revision of his role in the WYP/bubble boycott.
I think I may have misunderstood about today's 'meeting'. Apparently it was only a 'chance' of a meeting today, nothing concrete, so I don't know if it actually happened at all. You'd imagine SB would be busy planning for tomorrow.
There was a meeting and the butt of the jokes was doing his best to represent ALL of the supporters of the club. So here's a message for you all. Have a laugh and take the piss, but to name someone and then expect them to not be offended or upset is ****ing poor and you should hang your heads in shame.
Regarding representation, the OSC's stance is to represent the results of the poll they carried out which showed a 2:1 majority against the name change. Allam can't understand why we don't back him entirely on it despite that poll. He also thinks the OSC and CTWD are the same group which is just bizarre. His reasoning for this is that both groups have a Chris involved I know what you mean about Bernard, he's a mate of mine as well as yours, but I don't think anyone was being serious in taking the piss. It's maybe not right on a forum where he can't respond to criticism but it wasn't anything serious aimed at him.
You are miles out. It's nothing to do with either Chris. Assem Allam does not think that the OSC and CTWD are linked. If you can justify naming someone on here and then taking the piss out of him, go on then. Two posts on here referred to me by name, will I be next? On here I am The Omega Man. I changed it because my name is now in the public domain as far as City is concerned, but this board doesn't give a **** about privacy. If I start posting the names and addresses of regular posters on here, will I get banned and the posts deleted. You keep posted information on here about meetings, those posts are damaging the discussions as confidences are being broken, somewhere along the chain and that makes it hard work. Instead of just planning the meeting, time is wasted in preparing responses to possible issues. You are not the press officer for the OSC but you see fit to post what the stance of the OSC is! For ****s sake if you think that posting that is helpful, well, I'm gob smacked.
Allowing posters private info to be shown on here is a gross abuse. Is there anyone policing for such abuse.I would think a final warning or a complete ban would be in order for depending on the potential damage done. I disagree wholeheartily with one poster on here but tried to act to clear up exposure of his identity. If someone wants to out themselves fair enough. As someone stated yesterday there can be a point when people put their names in the public arena for anyone to check up if they so wish.Hopefully we can all respect their rights to have opinions different to our own and simply continue the fights on this forum in the accepted ways-ie ranting as per.
That bit about CTWD and OSC being one and the same was something Allam said. It's not important I just posted that because I found it funny. I can't justify naming and piss-taking no, but I haven't done that. All that happened here was one poster identified who the press officer was and someone else had a poke at him. He hasn't clarified either way, but I don't think it was serious or all that harmful. I don't think a meeting between Allam and Bruce is top secret, if it was I wouldn't have known about it. I'm not the press officer for the OSC but I am involved with the OSC and I know what the official stance is on the name change. Again it's nothing top secret. We did a poll of members and ensured we represented the results of the poll. It doesn't need the press officer to post that on a forum. EDIT: OK, I've done some pruning to get rid of any personal references.
