If Steve Bruce wasn't the manager of Hull City, I'm fairly confident that he'd be thinking along the same lines as nearly everyone else in the football community: that the name change is ridiculous.
I don't think CTWD are 1-0 down. It's more like the second half against Fulham. The good doctor has engineered a consolation goal thanks to a hospital pass from 2-jags and a big outlay on two goalscorers. But as said above, Bruce's apparent backing for the name-change is probably that he's got what he wants in the transfer window. Bruce expects it to die down soon - no doubt when the FA reject the name change and Dr Allam just accepts the inevitable.
Maybe I didn't make my point or demonstrate my point correctly - I didn't think you were questioning my support (although there are many on here who do question others support based on their feelings towards AA or the name change) what I was trying to say was that we all have our reasons for bleeding Black and Amber but the name on the badge isn't always that reason. As a kid I used to get a return ticket on the National Express coach from Canterbury to Hull (a 8hr trip each way) for home games at Boothferry to be part of a home crowd of under 1500. It amazes me how so many people now worry about the name on the badge but back in the late 80's and 90's couldn't be bothered to go into town to watch their local team. My granddad died before I was born, he was a avid City fan....he'd be as mortified by the way we attack each other at the moment as he would be about the name change.
Never said it shouldn't be debated or discussed - berating others for their opinions or questioning their support isn't a debate it's a pissing contest. The section you highlighted refers to the fact that we choose to support while AA chooses to own, there's a difference, presently we seem to be doing the devils work by being so polarised we vent our anger towards people who last season we'd have shared an overpriced pie with on the concourse at half time.
OK, so it descends into a pissing contest some of the time. So what? No real harm done. We bump into each other outside the KC sometime and one of us spills our drink, we smile, apologise and go on our way, as strangers. The world continues to turn. In the meantime, I'll continue to berate at will.
it was impossible for me to go then! but i don't want the name change at all it's just such asorry state of affairs after how good this season is
If you can afford to attend matches, it is my guess that you COULD afford £2 for something you believed in strongly. You would think that the message NO TO HULL TIGERS would be an easy sell, given that almost the entire fan base would prefer to stay as Hull City. The problem With CTWD is not the £2 fee to join and it is not the sentiment of the message.
Many fans think that CTWD are doing nothing but cause trouble for the club and also that their words and actions reflect badly on the fan base as a whole. It is perceived by many that the owner of the club is under the impression that all of our fans are like them. God help the fan base next time a chief constable decides to impose bubble restrictions on a match. Anyone want to hazard a guess as to what might happen in that scenario? This will happen at some point btw. In my view that is not an if, it is a when. As usual I may be wrong, time will tell.
The perception is, he would punish us all to punish the few. He has made his feelings on the CTWD group crystal clear.
He has made his feelings clear about a group which disagree with him. Saying they can die when he wants. If he doesn't get his way he'll walk away from the club. Both very childish. He is acting like the very thing he Fled to come to Hull!
and if he were to do that, what an immature sulky worthless ill-bred tosser he would prove himself to be, eh?
He is able to express his feelings because he came to a country that is free and CTWD can express their views and he has made it plain that he supports that. If the football association do not support his vision which he has backed to the tune of £80 million quid he will use that money to do something else. There is nothing childish about it.
FFS, Steve Bruce obviously gets paid handsomely by Hull City, Allam is his employer, and Allam makes sure he toes the line by being generous in the transfer market. Even I am not questioning the generosity of the funds being provided (I do think we're overpaying, but, you know) so don't start that one. Look, everything is great for Brucie. The name change stuff will be irritating him as it distracts from his excellent management. But don't expect him to not back Allam, because of the above! 'Kin 'ell it's so simple. He started flirting with the notion of bargaining with Allam a month or two ago, talking about trying to convince him what history meant to football fans over a cuppa. That's all gone quiet now, obviously he was told to keep out of such matters and just do his job. It's not in Bruce's interest to take a side against Allam. Oh, and anyone on here who says "I don't like Hull Tigers but I like the Premier League and I like the money he gives us" are ****ing, total scum. And ****s. As soon as there's a dip and we're back down a league, half of you would **** off anyway. Why don't you do it now?
