This thread should be closed. No story to be had as it wont happen.

Di Matteo or Poyet imo for Sunderland at some point.

James has been banned,Brb came on here and gave him every chance to explain himself, but the loon chose to carry on being a twat. I don't know if his ban is permanent though.

Can we ban Tickles now ? Just for being Tickles <laugh>

The only club we have to be worried about regarding Bruce leaving us for is Man Utd -

Bruce is a Geordie. First time going Sunlan was a mistake - he knows that. end of. unless the Toon came calling..

It is a different board at Sunderland than when Brucy was manager, Niall Quin sold out to some American and he has said in the media that sacking Bruce was the worse decision that he made during his period as Chairman. Saying that, bearing in mind the hostility of the Sunderland fans to Bruce, I have more chance of winning the Euromillions jackpot tomorrow night than Sunderland have of getting Bruce back as manager

Correct me if i'm wrong but didn't Brucie turn down Newcastle and some time later go to Sunlan? Isn't that why the Toon fans don't like him?

Yes but to be fair he had just signed a contract extension with Birmingham I believe which is why he turned down Newcastle.

Apparently Sunderland are looking at Championship managers to replace him, Zola and Ince the faves at the moment.

I'd love it if they turned it down. <laugh>

I would turn them down. Sunderland are in real trouble. There next 2 games are against liverpool and man u. They have a real chance at having played 7 games and only having picked up 1 point. I wouldnt jump ship at a top 6 championship club for what is the worst pl club at this moment (and probably for the next few weeks at least) not unless I got a huge commitment in resources. Which after they spent around 20 mill in the off season I really doubt any manger who takes that job will get. It might not have been 20 mill but I think it was around that.

The reality is that more resources will do them very little good until January, they have a piss poor group of players (PDC more than deserved the bullet, but it only masks the reality that he, or someone, has assembled a disparate bunch of players) , the odd exceptions being injury prone. The amusing thing is that the Magpies are looking forward to their derby day revenge; probably just the tonic they need after being scuppered at home by Hull City AFC. <whistle>

You couldn't make this **** up! The Mackems are in a real dilemma, as they are damned if they admit he was a tool, and they are damned if they argue he went too early; all I know is that it is damn funny <laugh><laugh>

Let's hope they get Ince, cos if they do they're down. He's a truly terrible manager who is only doing well now cos of his son. He wont have the division's standout player at Sunlan.

I heard this morning that Sunderland have a director of football, apparently some Italian geezer that I`ve never heard of, think that will rule out plenty of managers. Must admit its the first I knew of any such director of football there.

That's what I was arguing with GLP about on the Jawdies board when we were discussing Huddlestone. He was adamant that Sunderland came in for Huddlestone but he chose us. They didnt. Di Canio came in for him, Huddlestone was his prime target for the summer, but he was overruled by the DoF who didnt want Huddlestone. So instead PDC ended up with loads of players he didnt want.

    SCENARIO TIME. No hate please.

If the Geordies sacked Pardew would you expect an approach for Bruce and do you think he'd leave.

Black and Orange tinted specs off please.

I dont think he would leave in the middle of the season. I get the impression that he would want to finish the job that he had started.

    I know what you mean.

Whenever I see an interview with him he often says 'It's a project' or 'Work in progress'.
